    Green River High School and Rolling Green Country Club hosted the 4A West Spring Conference Golf meet May 13 and 14. Teams from Green River, Rock Springs, Evanston Natrona County, Kelly Walsh and Laramie competing. Jackson also competed, but were unable to win awards at the competition as the school is not part of the 4A West Division in golf.     After 10 years of swimming for Green River, Michael Richmond will move onto the collegiate level. On Friday, Richmond, who was surrounded by a table filled with medals and plaques he earned over the years, signed a letter of intent to swim during his time at Midland University, which is a four-year college in Nebraska.     The week wasn’t kind to the Green River High School boys soccer team. Following a game postponement in Evanston April 26, the boys went back the following Monday and were shutout in a 4-0 loss to the Red Devils. The Wolves’ trip to Natrona County started just as badly, with their first game at Kelly Walsh ending an another 4-0 shutout.     With wind chills in the low 20s to 30s to start the Green River twilight Track meet, five southwest Wyoming school’s competitors were dressed in hooded sweatshirts and wrapped in blankets for the chilly, mostly overcast, late afternoon meet. Last Thursday and despite the cold, competitors gathered for one last opportunity for competition prior to the 4A West Regionals next week in Evanston.     The Lady Wolves soccer team wrapped up the regular season with two more losses. On Friday, the Lady Wolves took on Kelly Walsh and lost 6-2.     On Saturday the Wolves traveled South to Morgan, Utah, to compete with five other Wyoming teams and 23 Utah teams. In the boys 4X800 meter relay, the Wolves took second place with a strong team that finished more than a minute and 10 seconds faster than earlier in the week.     The Green River Wolves Track Team started a busy week of track Wednesday when they competed in the Evanston Invitational with eight other Southwest Wyoming teams.     Due to spring break, the Green River Wolves Track Team took a small group of 18 athletes to Riverton this past Saturday for an in state meet which included the host Riverton and several central and northern Wyoming schools. There were three Green River sprinters in the 100 dash, led by Chatney Tirrell who came in 16th at 14.22, followed by Lillian Munoz in 24th at 14.72 and Mckenzie Clark in 57th at 16.20 in the field of 79 sprinters.     A new coach has been selected to head up Green River High School's cheerleading program. According to Tony Beardsley, Sweetwater County School District No. 2's Athletics Director, Allison Meredith was offered the head coaching job for the high school's cheer team. Meredith was the team's assistant coach prior to moving into the new role. Meredith's placement still needs approval from the district school board.     The Green River Wolves track team competed in Rock Springs at the Ted Schroeder Meet of Hope, competing against 12 other teams.
