    The Green River Fire Department had a busy Tuesday evening after being dispatched to a possible structure fire and a carbon monoxide alarm. At 7:17 p.m., the GRFD responded to a fire call at 355 Aspen Street. When firefighters arrived moments later, the home was filled with smoke, but no flames were visible and the occupants were still inside.     The Green River Police Department will host a drug take back event to allow residents to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medications. The GRPD will staff a kiosk at Smith’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 as part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The GRPD asks only prescription medications be dropped off to them.     A early-morning house fire Saturday was caused by a rechargeable battery pack according to the Green River Fire Department. Emergency responders were dispatched to the fire at 1050 Wilkes Drive shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday morning. When they arrived, firefighters found the fire to be limited to the home’s main living room. The homeowners were able to extinguish the flames and most of the hot spots when firefighters arrived, though the home suffered extensive smoke damage.     For many residents, the day the old Lincoln High School was torn down was the closing of an era in Green River. The school building’s gymnasium caught fire during the evening of Nov. 12, 2006.
