Green River Police Department reports for March 29

At 12:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a welfare check on a dog on Schultz Street. Officers made contact with the owner and observed the dog. Officers offered assistance regarding the health of the dog, set up a follow up visit, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance animal on Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported an individual who is not cleaning up their dog’s feces. Officers observed the condition of the yard and attempted to contact the owner. Report to follow.

At 3:47 p.m., officers along with an underage buyer conducted Tobacco Compliance Checks. Eight businesses that sell tobacco products were checked and all passed the compliance check. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of an agency assist with EMS personnel and the Coroner for a report of an unattended death on Apache Avenue. Officers completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances suspected.

At 8:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on West Teton Boulevard. It was reported two vehicles were both parked in the parking area when one of the vehicles began to reverse out of the parking spot and the other vehicle reversed and struck the rear of the first vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the second vehicle, Andrew Beardall, of Green River, a citation for alleged improper backing with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling northwest on West Flaming Gorge Way passing by a second vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied, when the mirror of the first vehicle struck the mirror of the parked vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Linda Doty, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.

March 30

At 7:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the overpass. It was reported two vehicles were traveling north on Uinta Drive when the first vehicle struck the rear bumper of the second vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:52 a.m., officers responded to a report of a subject removal on Buckboard Lane. Officers met with an individual who requested an individual that was in their residence without permission be removed and issued a trespass warning. Officers met with the individual, issued the trespass warning and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended death. Officers assisted EMS personnel and the Coroner and completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances are suspected. The case is still under investigation. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 1:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of stalking or harassment. Officers met with individuals regarding stalking concerns, gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 5:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Upland Way. Officers met with an individual who reported that as a car was passing them their window shattered. Officers gathered statements and ascertained the damage was not caused intentionally. Officers completed a report of the incident.

March 31

At 2:50 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that appeared to be broken down at the intersection of Evans Street and Uinta Drive. Officers met with the driver of the vehicle who was found to be impaired. Officers placed the driver, Cordell McCraken, of Green River, under arrest for alleged driving while under the influence of alcohol .08 or greater. Officers transported McCraken to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to Shoshone Avenue regarding an assault that had just occurred. Officers spoke with the reporting party and all parties involved and completed a report of the incident.

April 1

At 9:43 a.m., officers responded to an emergency school safety drill at Monroe Elementary. The drill was completed successfully.

At 11:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-crun collision at Smith’s. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied in the parking area. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a bus light violation on Monroe Avenue. Officers located the suspected driver, issued a citation to Terry Bonnie, of Colorado, for alleged meeting or passing a stopped school bus, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a bus light violation on Monroe Avenue. Officers located the suspected driver, issued a citation to Harvey Poling, of Green River, for alleged meeting or passing a stopped school bus, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual who requested to have trespass warnings issued to several individuals. Officers made contact with the individuals, issued the trespass warnings, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:49 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with two occupants inside at Maverick. As officers approached the vehicle they observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage. After meeting with the occupants, officers ascertained one of the individuals had an active warrant. Officers placed Ethan Irons, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active warrant. The other occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Dalton Kunz, of Green River, was issued a citation for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers transported Irons to the SWC Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 2

At 4:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the individual, who had entered a residence without permission. The individual was found to have an active warrant. Kayla Carson, of Green River, was placed under arrest per the active warrant, alleged criminal entry as well as interference with a peace officer. Officers transported Carlson to the SWC Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual in the middle of the roadway on East 4th South Street who had struck a vehicle that was passing by. Officers located and made contact with the individual. Officers gathered information and ascertained the individual had an active warrant. Officers placed Matthew Payne, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant and issued a citation for alleged interference with a peace officer. Officers transported Payne to the SWC Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 3

At 9:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on Ironwood Street. Officers met with individuals who requested to have an individual trespassed from their property. Officers met with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:33 a.m., officers met with an individual requesting assistance and who turned over several items of drug paraphernalia at the GRPD lobby. Officers collected the items and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:25 p.m., officers responded to a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report at Smith’s. Officers located the vehicle parked and observed a male in the driver seat of the vehicle who appeared to be sleeping. Officers made contact with the driver, observed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage, and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the individual’s breath. Subsequently officers placed Michael Medved, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication, interference with a peace officer, and open container. Officers transported Medved to the SWC Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 4

At 10:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Knotty Pine Street. Officers met with individuals that were involved in a verbal dispute over civil matters. Officers offered assistance and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual at the Horse Palace. Officers met with staff who reported than an individual that had previously been at the establishment had been making threatening and outlandish comments. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Upland Way. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been egged. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a parking complaint on Shoshone Avenue. Officers observed a vehicle in violation of City ordinance, attempted to contact the owner, tagged the vehicle for 5-day parking, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision at Smith’s. It was reported one vehicle attempted to park between the second and third vehicles. The second vehicle was parked in a parking spot to the north and was facing with the front toward the driving lane. The third vehicle was parked to the south and had pulled into the parking spot, so the rear was toward the driving lane. The first vehicle attempted to park in an empty parking spot between the two vehicles, and in the process struck both vehicles as the driver attempted to maneuver back and forth into the parking spot to straighten out the vehicle. Officers gathered information and subsequently issued the driver of the first vehicle, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist. Officers met with an individual who reported they have been receiving harassing phone calls from a family member. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
