    A 17-year-old Green River High School student died in a crash on Flaming Gorge Way Monday morning According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Maicy Braden was driving a 2002 Chrysler 300 at the intersection of Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive.     In the race for Wyoming’s lone House of Representatives Seat in Washington, D.C., much of the money donated has gone to Republican candidate Liz Cheney. According to the Federal Election Commission filings, Cheney has raised more than $1.4 million in her bid to represent the Cowboy State, more than 14 times the $98,540 amount raised by her opponent, Democrat Ryan Greene.     New principal at Monroe Intermediate School, Anne Marie Covey, recently took charge of a renovated building with a history that is close to her heart. The school originally opened in September of 1963 under the administration of Tony Katana, who happens to be Covey’s grandfather. Katana, who passed away in 2013, was a well-respected educator and administrator who spent 20 years as principal at Monroe.     This month’s featured artifact is a Geiger counter donated to the Sweetwater County Historical Museum by Arnold M. Hannum. Geiger counters are used to detect ionizing radiation, and similar objects have been used in the uranium mining business in Wyoming. This particular Geiger counter was produced by the Eberline Instrument Corporation of Santa Fe, N.M., and was copyrighted July 29, 1966 as the PRM-4 model.     A surprise donation to the Green River Knights American Legion baseball team came as a result of an article published by the American Legion. Saturday, the Tom Whitmore Post No. 28 gave a $200 check to the baseball team initially sent to the post by Anthony Bialy, a veteran in Illinois.     On Sept. 28 the Sweetwater County School District No. 2 and the city of Green River held its 10-annual Wellness Fair for the K-6 students at Wolves Stadium and the Monroe Fields.
