    A local credit union recently purchased a Green River-based bank, resulting in a credit union with more than $218 million in assets. Trona Valley Community Federal Credit Union purchased State Bank in a deal designed to bolster Trona Valley’s presence in Green River and Rock Springs.     A soldier, whose remains were found near Green River in the 1980s was finally put to rest last Wednesday. According to Dana L. Pertermann, Western Wyoming Community College associate professor of anthropology and geology, director of Center For Southwest Wyoming Archaeology and director of the Federal Artifact Repository, the soldier was excavated in the 1980s on the bluffs near Green River.     An unidentified inmate of the Sweetwater County Detention Center attempted to harm himself during a court hearing in Green River Friday morning. According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred in Judge Nena James’ court at about 11:30 a.m. The inmate was removed and transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where he was treated for his injuries and was placed under observation.
