Kids of all ages were enjoying the warm February day on Expedition Island this Saturday at the Crystal Classic Winter Festival.     Little hands made heart-shaped cookies, decorated with frosting the color of Valentines. In preparation for Valentine's Day, residents of the Villa, at Mission at Castle Rock visited kindergartners at Truman Elementary School Feb. 11.     The Green River City Council rejected a bid for the city’s electrical maintenance at Tuesday’s meeting. The city’s previous electrical contract agreement is now expired. The bid proposed by Mountain West Electrical Inc. was 50-61 percent higher than the previous city electrical contracts. This past weekend, the GRHS varsity wrestling team broke the streak, took first place and won the tournament. "I am proud of the boys for winning the tournament," head coach Marshall Rhodes said. The 2016 Crystal Classic Winter Festival takes place Friday and Saturday at the island.     Can you count to 100? For elementary school-age kids who just learned to count to 100, it is a pretty big number. The number 100 is a pretty big deal for the students at Truman elementary school.     The Wolves wrestlers proved they are the best in the region after winning the Tiger-Grizz tournament over the weekend.     Immediate action from a deputy sheriff saved a man and house from fire Thursday. The Green River Fire Department was called to a residence on Jan. 21 for a kitchen fire.     A fire on Expedition Island resulted in a melted portable outhouse Saturday morning. Arson is being investigated by the Green River Police Department.
