A few years ago, the city of Green River thought about disbanding the Overland Stage Stampede Rodeo, a Green River tradition for many years. Visitors are flocking to Green River. For the third year, visitations to the Green River Chamber of Commerce’s Visitors Center have increased. The 2015-16 fiscal budget was set with the anticipation of $900,000 being received monthly in sales tax revenue from the state.
