Police Reports

During the last week, the Green River Police Department responded to the following calls for service:

Officers were contacted by Wyoming Game and Fish in reference to an agency assist regarding an injured deer.

Officers posted a notice to abate at a nuisance property on East 2nd North Street.

Officers responded to the Sweetwater County School District No. 2 Bus Yard, in reference to a passing a school bus violation. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Animal control officers received a call of two dogs at large at 1615 Hitching Post Drive. The dogs were located and returned to their residence.

Animal control officers responded to a nuisance animal complaint on East 2nd South Street, in reference to a pet not being properly cared for and resulting in a noxious odor.

Animal control officers removed a deceased cat from the roadway East Flaming Gorge Way.

Officers tagged a vehicle and a trailer following a parking complaint at 110 Uinta Drive.

Officers contacted a resident who wanted a trespass warning issued to an individual for their property on Michigan Court. Officers contacted the individual, who was issued the trespass warning.

VIN checks were conducted at the Green River Police Department building.

Officers met an individual at the police department who turned in a found pocket knife. The owner was unable to be identified and the item was checked into the police department as found property.

Animal control officers picked up two found dogs on West Flaming Gorge Way, which were taken to the animal shelter.

Officers responded to a report of possible unauthorized use of a vehicle at 1000 W. Flaming Gorge Way. Officers contacted the involved parties, the vehicle was returned and the matter was resolved. While investigating the incident, officers contacted Amber Merrick, 32, Green River, who was issued a citation for driving while under suspension.

Officers contacted a resident by phone who had questions regarding a parking complaint.

Officers responded to a report of a juvenile problem at an undisclosed address.

Officers responded to the request for a welfare check on an individual at an undisclosed address. Officers located the individual who was OK.

Officers were advised of a traffic hazard involving a large number of nails in the roadway on Uinta Drive. Green River Public Works were contacted and removed the debris from the roadway.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint of a small child not in a car seat.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel on a medical call to an undisclosed address.

Animal control officers attempted to locate a dog at large on Trona Drive.

Officers responded to a report of a juveniles acting like they were pulling something across the roadway as traffic approached on River View Drive. Officers contacted the juveniles and addressed the complaint.

Officers contacted an individual who reported verbal threats made between two juveniles.

Animal control officers attempted to locate a dog at large at 425 E. Teton Blvd. The dog was described as a black lab with a purple collar.

Animal control officers met an individual at the animal shelter for a follow up.

Officers responded to a report of a juvenile problem and a possible assault at an undisclosed address. Officers contacted the involved parties and witnesses regarding the incident.

Animal control officers are investigating a report of a dog bite at 475 S. 2nd E. St.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious electrical odor in the area around New Mexico Street.

Officers responded to a citizen assist, to talk with a juvenile about the consequences of stealing.

Officers checked on an individual on Ironwood Street who reported having problems with the battery in their vehicle.

Officers served a court summons on Windriver Drive.

Officers issued a traffic citation for speeding during a stop on Hitching Post Drive.

Animal control officers contacted an individual by phone who had questions about a cat trap for kittens in the area.

Two traffic citations were issued for child safety restraints during a stop on Shoshone Avenue.

Animal control officers responded to a report of a raccoon caught in a trap on Ironwood Street.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance 280 W. Flaming Gorge St. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of an individual trespassing on Union Pacific property. Officers contacted the individual, who was given a trespass warning.

Animal control officers met with an individual who found a pit bull mix on Bridger Drive.

Officers contacted an individual on Shoshone Avenue who reported items they ordered were delivered to the wrong address and the resident denied receiving the package. The items were located and returned to the reporting party. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers contacted an individual by telephone who had questions about a civil matter involving property on Michigan Court.

Officers tagged a vehicle for parking on private property on Uinta Drive, following a complaint by a responsible party for the property.

Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call. Officers contacted the resident who was okay and determined the call was accidental, as a child was playing with the phone.

Animal control officers responded to a report of a dog at large on Maryland Drive.

Officers were flagged down by individuals who needed directions on 80 W. Flaming Gorge Way.

Officers responded to a report of a possible shoplifting at 200 Uinta Drive. After further investigation the call was determined to be unfounded.

Officers checked on an unsecured property, everything appeared OK and the property was secured.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance. Marshall Mechling, 41, of Green River, was arrested for alleged domestic battery. Ashleigh Mechling, 29, of Green River, was also arrested for alleged domestic battery. While investigating the incident, officers had contact with Zachary Walker, 27, of Green River, who was arrested for alleged public intoxication.

Officers responded to a request for a civil standby on South Wagonwheel Drive.

Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle in a parking lot at 200 Uinta Drive, then left the scene. After further investigation, the driver was identified as Larry Hobbs, 77, of Jamestown, who was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Animal control officers are investigating a report of a dog at large that attacked another dog being walked by their owner on the Greenbelt.

Animal control officers responded to a follow up on a previous barking dog complaint on Evers Street.

Officers located a vehicle described in a traffic complaint as speeding on Hitching Post Drive. The driver contacted and given a warning.

Animal control officers contacted an individual by phone who had questions about a sand puppy.

Officers received a report of juveniles throwing rocks in the roadway on an undisclosed street.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel on a medical call to an undisclosed address.

Officers were dispatched to a fire alarm. Officers contacted an employee who advised everything was OK and they were conducting a test of the alarm.

Officers responded to a report of violation of a court order on Jefferson Street. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which was forwarded to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.

Animal control officers responded to a report of two medium sized dogs at large on Bramwell Street.

Officers met an individual at the police department who turned in a found wallet. The owner of the wallet was contacted, advised nothing was missing and the wallet was returned to the owner.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported three vehicles were traveling west on East Teton Boulevard and following each other in a careless manner. The first vehicle slowed down, the vehicle behind it slowed as well and was struck from behind by a third vehicle.

Castle Rock Ambulance personnel checked on the vehicles occupants none of which were transported and two vehicles sustained damage. The drivers of each of the three vehicles were 16-year-old males from Green River, who were each issued a citation for careless driving.

Officers responded to a report that money was stolen from the reporting party’s purse on Monroe Avenue. Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance, in regards to individuals yelling on Riverview Drive. Upon arrival, officers contacted the individuals who had a verbal dispute about fixing a vehicle.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report on Shoshone Avenue.

Officers received call of individual removing items from a property on East 3rd South Street. Officers contacted the individual and remained at the address for a civil standby.

Animal control officers contacted an individual, in reference to a report that a dog bit the reporting party’s pant leg on Cumorah Way.

Officers responded to a report of a found dog on Saratoga Drive. The owner of the dog called earlier looking for their lost dog. and the two were reunited.
