A woman who used her car as a deadly weapon has already broken her probation. Tresha D. Bachman, 34, of Green River appeared on March 9 at a sentencing hearing in the Third District Court of Judge Nena James to two counts of aggravated assault and battery. Spring weather has delayed reservoir construction near Green River. The raw water reservoir project was initially planned to be a 17-month project, has been under construction for more than a year. The project was originally planned to be completed by late June, but is now expected to reach completion by mid to late summer. A Green River man died in a fatal crash south of city June 12. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 66-year-old Nick Sanchez died about 13 miles south of Green River after he failed to make a turn in the road. The crash occurred at about 5:33 p.m. on Wyoming Highway 530. A release from the WHP states Sanchez was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed during a heavy rainstorm. Voters in Sweetwater County are requesting more absentee ballots than they have in the past. As of Friday, 378 voters have asked for the ballots, which will be sent out July 1. In previous election years, the county would have only received about 100 requests for the ballots by mid-June. Leona May Riddle, 77, of Lander, died June 10, 2016 in Thermopolis. Riddle was born Feb. 20, 1939 in Terre Haute, Ind. She was raised in Reliance and attended school in Rock Springs, graduating in 1958. She was a long time resident of Green River and later retired in Lander. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
