The first annual Rocky Mountain Mining Summit is coming to Sweetwater County this fall.
"The mining industry will shine bright this fall in the heart of Wyoming," event organizers said, announcing that the summit will take place September 9 - 12 at the Sweetwater Events Complex.
"This new industry event is designed to bring together mining professionals, industry partners, students, and community members to celebrate and explore the powerful impact of mining in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond," a press release explained.
With a mission to increase awareness, education, and appreciation for the vital role Wyoming and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region play in global mining, the Rocky Mountain Mining Summit will feature a dynamic mix of educational programming, industry exhibits, and networking opportunities, according to the press release. Attendees at the summit can expect over 50 industry exhibitors showcasing the latest in mining technology, services, and innovation; expert speakers presenting on critical topics including innovation, safety, environmental responsibility, workforce development, and leadership; a special keynote address from a prominent industry leader; a charity golf tournament; evening networking receptions; and a VIP industry dinner experience.
"We are proud to bring this summit to Rock Springs, a community deeply rooted in mining history and poised for future industry growth," said event organizers. "This event is about more than mining-it's about building connections, sharing knowledge, and highlighting the incredible people and companies that power this industry."
Organizers wanted to keep the event affordable and accessible to anyone interested in learning more about mining, from industry veterans to students exploring future careers, the press release explained. Registration starts at $50, and college students receive free admission.
