Sweetwater County School District No. 2 recently announced that they have selected a new Green River High School Head Girls' Basketball Coach. Clint Landon will take over the Girls' Basketball program, replacing long-time coach Rick Carroll, who retired in April.
Landon has been an Assistant Varsity Coach for the Green River High School Girls' program since the 2015 season. Coach Landon was an assistant football, basketball, and track and field coach at Torrington High School from 2010 to 2015.
In the summer of 2022, Landon was selected as an assistant coach for the Wyoming High School Girls' Basketball All-Star Game. He assisted the South All-Star Team under Mountain View Head Coach Jessica Moretti.
Landon has worked for Sweetwater County School District No. 2 since 2015 and is currently working in the district's Technology Department.
Coach Landon is a graduate of Niobrara County High School in Lusk. He is married to Shauri Landon, who is currently an assistant coach at Green River High School after serving as an assistant Girls' Basketball coach at Rock Spring High School for several years prior to this past basketball season.
"We are excited to have Clint Landon take on the Head Girls' Basketball position at Green River High School," Athletic Director Tony Beardsley said. "Clint is dedicated to Green River Girls' Basketball and has a strong desire to take on the leadership role of our program. Clint has a passion for the sport of basketball and dedicates a significant amount of his time to our program. It's this dedication to the sport he loves and to the student-athletes on our team that make Coach Landon a great choice to lead the Green River High School Girls' Basketball program into the future."
