City and school district team up for additional practice baseball field

The City of Green River teamed up with the Green River School District to provide a much-needed practice baseball and softball field. Little League Baseball and the local softball leagues have experienced an increase in participation and the need for more space.

The School District has an old field located just North of the Central Administration building. City crews were able to level the field, that also includes a baseball backstop fence. City officials believe the field could be ready for use in the next two weeks.

Superintendent Craig Berringer says the district has a great working relationship with the city and the district is glad to help. Mayor Pete Rust echoed Berringer, saying "the school district has always been a great partner with the city, and this new practice field will be a great help to the youth of Green River."
