Wrestlers take top spots in Vernal Tournament of Champions

The Green River Wolves Boys and Girls Wrestling teams, both Varsity and Junior Varsity, competed this past week on Friday and Saturday in one of the long-running, prestigious regional wrestling meets in this area. The 52nd Annual Tournament of Champions in Vernal, Utah had teams from Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.

The Varsity boys team finished fifth out of 34 teams and had six of their 16 wrestlers place in the top eight. The top finisher in the tourney for the boys was James Herwaldt, who took second at 165 pounds. Maddux Hintz finished fourth at 150 pounds. Four wrestlers finished in fifth pla...
