Tennis faces multiple opponents during busy week

The Green River Girls and Boys Tennis teams had an extremely busy week this past week. They played Rock Springs at home Tuesday, traveled to Laramie Thursday to play Torrington, then came back to Green River to play Cheyenne South Friday, Cheyenne East Saturday morning and Cheyenne Central Saturday afternoon.

In their first meet of the week, the girls defeated Rock Springs in the teams scores 4-1, while the younger boys team was defeated by Rock Springs 4-1, with their lone win coming from their #1 Singles player Chris Wilson.

Playing Torrington in Laramie, the Lady Wolves defeated Torrington in team play 4-1, while the Wolves' boys also defeated Torrington 4-1. Against Cheyenne South, the girls won by forfeit 5-0 as South did not field a team, and the boys won 4-1. On Saturday, the girls defeated East 4-1 while the boys were shut out by Cheyenne East 5-0. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, Cheyenne Central girls and boys both shut out their Wolves counter parts 5-0.

Despite some of the one-sided scores, Coach Harder is pleased with his teams' effort as they are practicing hard and improving each week.

The Wolves will travel to Cheyenne this week, Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16, for Regionals.
