Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 7

At 10:31 a.m., officers responded to New York Lane for a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving a credit card in the mail that they had not applied for. The card was canceled. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 10:48 a.m., CSOs responded to a report of a nuisance property in the area of N 3 W Street. Officers met with the property owner, advised of the violation, issued a notice to abate, and completed an incident report.

At 1:03 p.m.,CSOs responded to a report of a nuisance property in the area of Iowa Avenue. Officers met with the property owner, advised of the violation, issued a notice to abate, and completed an incident report.

At 3:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to Adult Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive for an arrest and hold order. Terrance Larson, of Rock Springs, was placed under arrest and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed an incident report. 

At 6:55 p.m., officers responded to McDonalds located at 599 E S Street for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was reversing out of a parking space and a second vehicle was traveling west entering the driver through lane when the first vehicle struck the second vehicle. The first vehicle then pulled forward and left the scene. Officers later made contact with the driver of the first vehicle, who was no longer in the area but provided information. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:35 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Iowa Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged one-way traffic violation.

At 7:47 p.m., officers observed a vehicle in violation of city ordinance in the area of E Flaming Gorge Way. Officers tagged the vehicle and completed an incident report.

At 7:53 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bridger Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged tail light violation.

At 9:37 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bramwell Street on an electric bicycle speeding on the roadway and issued the rider a verbal warning.

At 11:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs fighting. Upon arrival, officers met with an individual that reported that they were bitten by one of the dogs while attempting to separate the dogs. One dog surrendered to officers and was taken to the animal shelter. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report, which was forwarded to Animal Control.

Aug. 8

At 12:21 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged brake light and seat belt violation.

At 11:04 a.m., officers responded to a report of nuisance property. Officers issued the property owner a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:27 a.m., officers responded to a report of nuisance property. Officers issued the property owner a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of nuisance property. Officers issued the property owner a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Leena Owens, of Green River, a citation for an alleged compulsory auto insurance violation and written warnings for an alleged speed and expired temporary license permit/improper registration violation.

At 4:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run. Officers located the suspect vehicle and issued the driver, a juvenile, of Green River, citations for alleged careless driving and duty to render aid/information.

At 6:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of an intoxicated individual who had been cut off from the bar and was refusing to leave. Officers met with the individual and witnesses involved and gathered information. Subsequently, officers placed Kayliann Rust, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication. Officers transported Rust to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 9

At 9:24 a.m., officers observed a property with nuisance weeds. Officers made contact with the property owner who stated they would get the property cleaned up. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the parties involved who advised they had been arguing for most of the day. One of the parties agreed to leave the residence for the night and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:48 a.m., officers observed a property with nuisance weeds. Officers issued a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:55 p.m., officers observed a property with nuisance weeds. Officers issued a notice to abate and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:04 p.m., officers observed a property with nuisance weeds. Officers made contact with the property owner who stated they would get the property cleaned up. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with an involved party who was not cooperative and threatening officers. A taser was deployed and officers placed Gerald Cox, of Green River, under arrest for alleged interference with peace officer - intent and knowing attempt to cause bodily injury to a peace officer. Officers transported Cox to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 10

At 10:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the reporting party who advised two individuals had come to the residence and caused a disturbance over custody issues. The parties separated prior to the officer’s arrival. The reporting party requested the other individuals be issued trespass warnings for their residence. Officers met with the alleged suspects, gathered their statements, and issued trespass warnings. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:09 a.m., officers responded to the area of the Water Treatment Facility construction site for a weapon offense. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they believed they saw an individual fire a gun out the window of a truck. Officers located the truck and spoke with the driver who advised they were an employee working on the construction site and they did not have a gun nor did they hear or see anyone shooting. Officers searched the area for evidence that a gun had been fired but did not locate any evidence. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. Officers met with the driver who advised they had been riding their dirt bike in the area of Scott’s Bottom when they collided with a guard rail. EMS was called to evaluate the driver and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they had located some damage to their vehicle’s windshield. Officers observed the damage but were unable to locate the cause of the damage. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 11

At 12:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. Officers met with the driver who advised that as they were pulling into their driveway, they collided with another vehicle parked in the driveway, causing damage to the taillight. Officers gathered the driver’s statement and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported they had attempted to purchase items through Facebook Marketplace. Funds were transferred, but no items were received. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:27 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speed.

At 3:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 4:23 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Colorado Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged stop and turn signals required violation.

At 9:48 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged stop sign violation.

At 10:46 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged stop sign violation.

Aug. 12

At 12:10 a.m., officers responded to the area of Honor Way for a report of a barking dog complaint. Officers located the residence and made contact with the homeowner. Officers advised of the complaint, gathered information, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:59 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 2 S Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 7:12 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive. Following a DWUI investigation, the driver Kelly James Lundgren, of Green River, was placed under arrest and issued citations for alleged cross center line, driver’s view obstructed, DWUI - of alcohol .08 or greater 2nd offense, DWUS - 2nd or subsequent offense, and open container. Officers transported Lundgren to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:12 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of S Center Street. Officers issued the driver a written warning for alleged vehicle registration - expired or improper registration.

At 5:59 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged motorcycle operation violation.

At 6:17 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver John Schmidt, of Green River, a citation for alleged vehicle registration - valid title, registration, plates or permits.

At 8:29 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Indian Hills Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

Aug. 13

At 12:01 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Indian Hills Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 1:10 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Windriver Drive.

At 1:10 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 7 W Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 2:28 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 10:27 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 12:17 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Scotts Bottom and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding. 

At 1:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with a possible warrant for their arrest. Officers met with individuals who were involved in a dispute. No warrants were confirmed. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:32 p.m., animal control officers responded to Anvil Drive for a barking dog complaint. Officers spoke to the reporting party and gathered information. Officers attempted to make contact with the owner and completed an incident report.

At 6:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage. Officers met with an individual who reported damaged windows. It was determined that an individual had been firing a BB gun in a neighboring yard and the BBs traveled past the target and struck the windows. Officers met with the individuals involved, gathered information, and completed an incident report.

At 9:13 p.m., officers responded to the area of Colorado Drive for a report of a collision. It was reported a vehicle was turning left onto E Teton Boulevard from Colorado Drive when the vehicle collided with a trailer that had been parked on the south side of the roadway. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

Aug. 14

At 2:42 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers met with the individuals, confirmed the warrant, and placed Debin Punches, of Green River, under arrest per the warrant. Officers transported Punches to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the alley of Astle Avenue in reference to a found bicycle. The reporting party advised the bicycle was found in the tall weeds and it has not been in the area before. Officers collected the bicycle for safekeeping, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:33 p.m., officers responded to The Horse Palace at 110 Uinta Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision in the parking lot area. It was reported one vehicle began backing out of a parking space and struck a second vehicle, which was traveling through the parking lot. Both drivers reported not seeing the other driver due to the sun being directly in their eyes. Officers gathered information and completed a crash report of the incident.
