Three Green River Knights players earned All-State honors

The Wyoming Legion Baseball Single-A announced the All-State players for this season.

The Green River Knights had three players that earned All-State honors. The players awarded to the second team were Jace Paoli, Ben Lail (Junior) and Lander Welch.

Head Coach Ben Lail is very proud of all the players and believes all the honors were well-deserved. Coach Lail said Jace Paoli played fantastic this year, was a captain for the team for two years, had some big hits and competed awesomely in the All-Star game. He said Ben Lail (Junior) has been a starter for the team for two years and has been a workhorse for the team, catching over 200 innings. Lander Welch has been a three-year starter and captain for the team and had a really great year, according to the coach, who said he is super proud of Welch.

The West All-Stars team played against the East All-Stars at the Nida Field in Douglas on Saturday, August 5. The players from the Knights on the West team included Ben Lail (Junior), Brackin Lail, Q Liebelt, Jace Paoli, Chris Reinig and Lander Welch. The West All-Stars won the game with a final score of 9-8.
