Green River Police Department reports for April 28 - May 2

April 28

At 4:08 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued a written warning to the driver for alleged speeding.

At 12:47 p.m., while on routine patrol, the nuisance officer observed a vehicle obstructing the sidewalk on E Flaming Gorge Way. The officer attempted to locate a registered owner, tagged the vehicle for the parking violation, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:08 p.m., while on routine patrol, the nuisance officer observed a trailer parked on the roadway on E 2 N Street, which was in violation of City ordinance 24-24. The officer attempted to locate a registered owner, tagged the trailer for the parking violation, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the Arctic Circle parking lot at 445 E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a hit and run collision. It was reported the first vehicle struck the second vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied in the parking lot, then left the scene. Officers met with the owner of the second vehicle, gathered information, attempted to locate the suspected vehicle, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:17 p.m., officers responded to E Railroad Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with an individual who reported that two individuals had been fighting in the alleyway. Officers attempted to locate the individuals, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

April 29

At 8:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of lost property. Officers met with an individual who reported they had lost their keys while at Hutton Street park.

At 6:36 p.m., officers responded to Subway at 220 Uinta Drive for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individual who was causing a disturbance, issued a trespass warning at the request of the property owner, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:07 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Roosevelt Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speeding.

April 30

At 5:25 a.m., officers responded to the Loaf N Jug at 1325 Bridger Drive for a report of a suspicious individual. Officers met with an employee who reported that the individual was loitering inside the store and causing them to feel uncomfortable. Officers spoke to the individual, gathered information, asked the individual to leave, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:23 p.m., officers responded to the Expedition Island for a report of found keys. The owner was located and the keys were returned to the owner.

At 5:38 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Upland Way for a report of larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported a missing firearm. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

May 1

At 4:14 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 4 S Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speeding.

At 7:21 a.m., officers responded to GRHS at 1615 Hitching Post Drive for a report of a suspicious circumstance. Officers met with an individual who reported a window that appeared to have been tampered with. Officers observed the window that appeared to have come off of the tracks due to age. No obvious signs of tampering were found. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the information.

At 8:55 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 4th S Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 10:19 a.m., officers observed a vehicle with an open trunk parked under the overpass on E Flaming Gorge Way. Officers observed the driver-side window to be broken, and the vehicle appears to have been rummaged through. Officers attempted to contact the registered owner but were unable to locate a current phone number or current address. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:58 a.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an active arrest warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Charles Anthony Bozner, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Bozner to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:20 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an animal at large. Officers issued a citation for alleged animal at large to Weston Stewart of Green River.

At 12:20 p.m., officers responded to Twisted Timber located at 91 W Flaming Gorge Way in reference to property damage. Officers met with the owner who reported that the window in their office had been damaged. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of a missing adult individual. Officers gathered information and later located the individual. Officers notified the reporting person, offered assistance, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 2:37 p.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole located at 140 Commerce Drive in reference to an arrest and hold. Officers met with the agents and the individual, confirmed the arrest order, and placed Philip Timmons, of Wamsutter, under arrest. Officers transported Timmons to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:26 p.m., officers responded to the area of Telephone Canyon in reference to a brush fire. Officers secured the area until the Green River Fire Department arrived. The fire was extinguished and BLM Rangers took over the fire investigation. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

May 2

At 8:51 a.m., officers responded to the area of Upland Drive in reference to a vehicle with a window broken out and a firearm in plain view inside of the vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle with the rear window broken out and a BB gun rifle inside the vehicle. Officers attempted to locate and contact the owner of the vehicle. Upon follow-up, the vehicle was no longer in the parking lot. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:52 a.m., officers responded to the Sweetwater County School District No. 2 Bus Barn for a report of a bus light violation. Officers identified the driver of the vehicle and issued a citation to a juvenile, age 17, of Green River, for allegedly meeting or passing a stopped school bus. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:03 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 12:03 p.m., officers responded to ACE Hardware at 400 Uinta Drive in reference to a found bicycle. The reporting party advised the bicycle has been in the same spot in front of the store for over two weeks. Officers collected the bicycle for safekeeping, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Crossbow Street and issued the driver, Eric Schantz, of Green River, a citation for allegedly speeding in a school zone.

Correction: The GRPD police reports included in the May 4 edition of the newspaper incorrectly identified a Green River resident arrested on April 26. Ann Kennah was the resident who was arrested.
