Brian Matthew Kolczak

Brian Matthew Kolczak, 53, passed away about August 7, 2022 at his home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was a resident of Rock Springs for 40 years and former resident of Idaho. Mr. Kolczak died following a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 25, 1969 in Silverton, Idaho; the son of John Warren Kolczak and Arlene Katherine Polla.

Mr. Kolczak attended schools in Green River, Wyoming and was a 1987 graduate of the Green River High School.

He married Kristine A Crowder June 11, 1994 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2017.

Mr. Kolczak worked for Haliburton for over 20 years having retired due to ill health in 2018 working with Nitrogen and Fracking.

He enjoyed bowling; Boy Scouts as a young man; drawing; painting; being outdoors; shooting guns; riding four wheelers; fishing. Mr. Kolczak was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and reader.

He was raised by his step-dad and mom in Osburn, Idaho and then moved to Green River in 1982.

Survivors include his step-father, Roy Cochran of Green River, Wyoming; step-mother, Carol Kolczak of Osburn, Idaho; his daughter, Nichole France and husband Brad of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three brothers, James "Jim" Kolczak of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Mike Cochran of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Brian Lee Kolczak of Idaho; two sisters, Johnna Kolczak of Roy, Utah; Melissa Simard of Montana; his father-in-law, Roy Crowder of Wyoming; his mother-in-law, Barbara Crowder of New, Mexico; one granddaughter, BettyAnne France; several uncles; cousins; two nephews, Kraig Kolczak and wife Lesley; Kasey Kolczak; three nieces, Makayla Cochran; Gabriela Ortiz; Adriana Ortiz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his father, John W. Kolczak; mother, Arlene K. Cochran.

Cremation will take place; a Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church, 1515 Edgar Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

The family requests casual dress and to wear red and black or Seahawk colors if you wish.
