Ronnie Dean Pivik

Ronnie Dean Pivik, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home in Green River, Wyoming. Mr. Pivik fought a courageous three-year battle with Cancer. He was a resident of Green River and Sweetwater County for 45 years and former resident of Casper, Wyoming.

He was born November 10, 1945 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; the son of Antone E. Pivik and Lempi Marie Kiviaho.

Mr. Pivik attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1964 graduate of Rock Springs High School. He received his Associates Degree from Marquette University in Dental Technology. He then attended Western Wyoming Community College and received his Associates Degree in Industrial Safety.

He married Lynda L. Gaffron on March 21, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. Pivik was a United States Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam War. He served five campaigns between 1964 and 1968 on the USS Epperson DD7719 and the US Army National Guard 1962-1964.

He worked for Western Wyoming Community College for five years and retired December 18, 2018 as a Safety Instructor. Previously he worked for OCI for 26 years as a Safety Instructor.

Mr. Pivik was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus; He was a member of the American Legion Archie Hay Post #24 and Girl Scouts of America.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; hunting; fishing; wood carving; cooking on the barbecue and working in the yard. Mr. Pivik was very active in the Catholic Church as well as The Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda L. Pivik of Green River, Wyoming; two daughters, Ambrena Pivik of Pahrump, Nevada; Trinette Pivik of Missoula, Montana; one brother Karl Pivik of Green River, Wyoming; one brother-in-law, Robert Gaffron Jr of Peoria, Illinois one granddaughter, Nalena Pivik of Missoula, Montana; several cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antone E. Pivik and Lempi Marie Pivik; one; sister, Antoinette Brandt; one sister-in-law, Margo Luka and husband Fred; one brother-in-law, William Karl; father and mother-in-law, Robert Gaffron Sr. and June Gaffron.

Cremation will take place; A rosary will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River, Wyoming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Church. Military Honors, Graveside Services and Inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
