Green River Police Department reports for July 27

At 1:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Picnic Grounds on Riview Road. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for an obscured license plate and made contact with the driver. Officers issued the driver Joe Valdez, of Green River, a warning for allegedly operating a vehicle with altered or obscured license plate and a citation for alleged seat belt driver violation.

At 2:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Super 8 Motel. Officers met with the general manager who reported missing funds. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

July 28

At 10:42 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on Uinta Drive. Officers met with an individual who requested to have an individual trespassed from their property. Officers met with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Bomgaar’s. Officers located a scooter and a babydoll, booked the items in for safekeeping, posted photos on the GRPD Facebook page, and completed a report of the incident.

July 29

At 6:16 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the GRPD office and issued the driver, Armando Magana Chavez, 27, of Odessa, TX citations for alleged no passing zone violation and failure to provide proof of liability insurance.

At 7:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny at Riverview Cemetery. The reporting party advised that a Vietnam war helmet was stolen from a gravesite. Officers were unable to locate a suspect at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is under investigation.

At 11:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of individuals disturbing the peace on Kansas Street. Officers met with the individuals who advised they were unaware they were disturbing the neighbors and they were heading inside for the night. Officers completed a report of the incident.

July 30

At 2:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Shoshone Avenue resulting in property damage. The reporting party advised that a vehicle had driven into the grass area of the property and hit a sprinkler cover causing it to be damaged. Officers were able to locate the driver, Thomas McMullan, 40, of Rock Springs, and issue him a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny at the Bowling Center. The reporting party advised that a customer had left without paying their bar tab. Officers attempted to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

July 31

At 1:40 a.m., officers observed an individual believed to be driving under the influence at Maverick. Officers made contact with the driver and determined her to be under the influence. Stephany Leasor, 39, of Green River, was placed under arrest for allegedly DWUI of alcohol. Officers transported Leasor to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:44 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual needing trespassed at the Super 8 Motel. Officers made contact with the individual and issued the trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at mile marker 89 on Interstate 80 eastbound. Officers made contact with both parties who advised that the second vehicle was passing the first vehicle and the first vehicle did not see the second vehicle and merged into their lane. Officers observed the damage to both vehicles and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual needing trespassed on New Hampshire Street. Officers made contact with the individual and issued the trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:06 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at Mustang Motel. The first vehicle was attempting to back out of a parking lot when it collided with another unoccupied vehicle. Officers observed the damage to both vehicles and attempted to locate the owner of the second vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the owner at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 1

At 1:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance on Colorado Drive. Officers met with the individual and staff, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a physical altercation and gathered information. Subsequently, officers placed Joseph James, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic battery -1st offense. Officers transported James to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 3:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Les Schwab Tire. It was reported one vehicle was stopped waiting to make a left-hand turn at an entryway on Uinta Drive and a second vehicle was traveling south on Uinta Drive, in the right lane of travel, approaching the construction on the Uinta River Bridge. As the first vehicle conducted the left hand turn into the left lane of travel on Uinta Drive then began to merge into the right lane of travel, the passenger side of the vehicle struck the driver’s side of the second vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Julianne Nash, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 2

At 12 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Fox Hills Drive. Officers met with an individual and advised about the noise complaint, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage at Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported the rear windshield of their vehicle had been shattered. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 3

At 11:04 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Donald Rockwell III, of Green River, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability insurance.

Aug. 4

At 10:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Mansface Street. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. It was ascertained one of the individuals had an active trespass order for the property. Officers gathered information, advised of the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 5

At 10:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Smith’s. Officers met with an employee from North Park Transportation who reported a case of an alcoholic beverage was stolen from the truck. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Mustang Motel. Officers met with an individual who reported items missing. Officers met with staff and ascertained the items had not been stolen but mistakenly thrown away. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats and harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening messages from an individual and requested to have a trespass warning issued. Officers gathered information, attempted to contact the individual, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 6

At 11:27 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual on Uinta Drive. Officers met with the individual, issued a verbal warning for disturbing the peace, and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation and gathered information. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 8:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Smith’s. Officers met with the store manager who reported an individual previously trespassed from the property was back in the store and had been refusing to leave. Officers met with the individual, gathered information, issued Alex Vigil, of Green River, a citation for trespassing, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 7

At 3:22 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers gathered information and were able to locate the juvenile. The juvenile was escorted home and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 12:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of an agency assist with EMS on Lombard Street. While on scene officers located suspected methamphetamines. The individual was evaluated and transported to the hospital. Officers gathered information, confiscated the suspected methamphetamine, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Evers Park. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 4:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats and harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported an individual was sending them harassing and threatening messages. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Mississippi Street. Officers met with an individual and advised of the noise complaint. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 8

At 3:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on West Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported one vehicle was parked and another vehicle parked to the south of the first vehicle in a parking space adjacent to it. The rear driver’s side of the second vehicle was parked over the line to the south. As the first vehicle reversed out of the parking space the rear passenger side of the vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and issued the driver of the first vehicle, Ronnie Montoya, of Green River, a citation for alleged improper backing. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:29 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Uinta Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, age 17, a citation for alleged seat belt - driver violation.

Aug. 9

At 2:54 a.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance animal at Illinois Court. Officers met with an individual who advised of the nuisance complaint. Officers completed a report and forwarded it to Animal Control.
