GRHS students receive scholarship

Three Green River High School students recently received the Maicy Braden Scholarship for 2022. This year, the $500 memorial scholarships were awarded to Cody Price, Ridge Hester and Andrew Winters.

The industrial arts scholarship was named for a GRHS student who tragically died in an automobile crash October 3, 2016.

Maicy Marie Braden was an aspiring young student at Green River High School that had remarkable talents, especially in the Career and Technical Education area. She was an honor student with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and had dreams of attending college and seeking a career in Design and Development. She was a gifted welder and had a profound love for building and creating practical solutions using her metal working skills. In addition to her love of welding, she was very talented in the areas of auto mechanics and collision refinishing.

This scholarship is in place to honor Maicy and to celebrate the courage she demonstrated in the area of Career and Technical Education.
