Green River Police Department reports for June 14

At 10:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended death at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center and the Villa. Officers assisted staff and contacted the coroner. Officers completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances are suspected.

At 1:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny at The Hitching Post. Officers met with an individual who reported political signs missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs at large on New Jersey Lane. Officers met with an individual who advised where the dogs lived. Officers located and impounded the dogs, then met with the owner at their residence. Officers gathered information, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs at large at Colorado Circle. Officers met with the owner, Marcos Molina, of Green River, and issued citations for alleged animal at large. Report to follow.

June 15

At 7:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at North 2nd East Street and East Flaming Gorge Way. Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle which had struck a second vehicle which was unoccupied and legally parked along the side of the roadway. Officers observed the damage to both vehicles, located the owner of the second vehicle, and placed the driver of the first vehicle, Ricky Buzis, 40, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, under arrest for alleged DWUI alcohol .08 or greater; interference with a peace officer; driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked; failure to provide proof of liability coverage; and expired temporary license permit or improper registration. Officers transported Buzis to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

June 16

At 8:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual at the Loaf ‘N Jug on East Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported the individual may be a runaway. Officers gathered information, contacted the Basin Police Department, attempted to locate the individual, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of accidental damage at Green River Animal Control. It was reported a window in the bus had been damaged during work restitution. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 7:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Green River Recreation Center. Officers met with staff and individuals concerning use of facility issues. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 10:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on Monroe Avenue. It was reported an unknown individual had entered the residence without permission. Officers met with the occupants of the residence, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

June 17

At 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Sweetwater County Detention Center. The reporting party advised that their debit card had been used without permission. Officers spoke with the reporting party and gathered their information. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 9:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a deer on Uinta Drive. Officers met with the driver of the vehicle who advised they had seen the deer on the side of the road and had slowed down but were unable to avoid the collision. No injuries were reported and the deer was unable to be located. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

June 18

At 9:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Michael Kiter, 33, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed - generally.

At 1:23 p.m., officers responded to a civil issue regarding the eviction process on Madison Avenue. Officers met with the individuals involved and advised them of the steps that needed to be taken. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 2:15 p.m., officers came into contact with an individual with an active warrant while on an unrelated call for service. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Samantha Gonzalez, 36, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Gonzalez to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
