Green River residents will have some choices to make in the Nov. 8 General Election that will impact the makeup of the Green River City Council.
Mayor Pete Rust is seeking his third term, but is being challenged by Mark Peterson for the position. This will be the third time Rust and Peterson have run against each other for the position.
In Ward I, Ronald Williams and Jon Fernandez are seeking election to the Council seat Jim Zimmerman will vacate at the end of the year. In Ward III, long-serving Councilam Gary Killpack is challenged in his re-election bid by Robert Ross. Ward II candidate Michael Shutran is the only person unopposed in their re-election bid.
In Granger, mayor Bradly McCollum faces a re-election challenge from John Styvar. Teal Romango and Robert Perry are seeking election to the Granger Town Council.
In Rock Springs, five candidates are seeking to take over from Tim Kaumo, who has decided not to seek re-election. Those candidates are Wally Johnson, Dave Radakovich, Matthew Jackman, Max Mickelson and Kathy Phelps. For the Rock Springs City Council, Ward I Councilor Jeannie Demas is the only person seeking re-election to the Council. She is unopposed in that effort. In Ward II, David Thompson faces Thomas Allen for the position Tim Savage will vacate.
In Ward III, Bradley Christman faces Daniel Pedri for the seat David Halter will vacate while Ward IV candidates Randy Hanson and Eric Bingham vie for the seat Keaton West vacates as he seeks a term as Sweetwater County commissioner.
In Wamsutter, Larry Chip Rooey is the only candidate running for mayor of the town, while Gerald Proberts, Dustin Davis and Seth Rauch seek positions on the town’s Council.
