Holly Rae Erhart

Holly Rae Erhart, 63, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, passed away on February 27, 2022 due to unforeseen complications after a surgery at the University of Utah Hospital. She was surrounded by her family.

Holly was born on May 1, 1958 to Val and Carol Hardy in Ogden, Utah. She spent her childhood in Morgan, Utah and then moved to Lyman, Wyoming to raise her amazing family later in life. In 1975 she met Kevin Taylor and they wed February 14, 1976, going on to have three children, Shavis, Hazen, and Tawnie. Later, Dave Lytle came into Holly's life giving her spark and purpose. He was her soulmate and they lived happily with one another until his passing in 2012.

She had many jobs as she was always a very hard worker, but many remember her as "The Nice Dollar Tree Lady". She had a tough exterior, a booming voice, and an absolute heart of gold. At the time of her passing, she was an employee of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

Holly raised not only her own children, but always took in others if they needed anything. "Stray kids" as she named them, would never leave her home needing anything. If she took you in, you most definitely would not leave hungry. Her great grandchild, Milo, was asked to describe her and he replied, "She was loving and caring and the best grandma anybody could ever ask for." She was the token grandmother.

In Holly's childhood she spent time riding horses and playing in caves. She also mentioned causing a little ruckus in school, just for fun. Holly was a passionate sports fan later in her life. When she wasn't watching the Colorado Rockies or the San Francisco 49ers, she was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports, perform, graduate and/or just be happy hanging out with their Grammy. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. She also wanted to see baseball stadiums throughout the country. Holly loved light houses and aspired to see more of them.

She is survived by her three children, Shavis (Billy) Peterson, Hazen Taylor, Tawnie (Will) Cazier, and her bonus daughter/niece Koral Shook, her nine grandchildren, Jazlynn Hall (Ben Maglio), Jaik (Jacob) Terry, Elevyn Taylor, Luschian Lee, Dylen Peterson, Taylor Peterson, Kevyn Taylor, Billy Peterson, and Rheana Cazier, her two great grandchildren, Milo and Thea Terry, her father, Val Hardy, her four sisters, Janette (Bill) Larsen, Lori (Randy) Bice, Val (Jim) Nelson, Kris (Pete) Vel, her brother-in-law Dale Shook, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Holly was proceeded in death by her mother Carol Hardy, her sister Keli Shook, her partner Dave Lytle, her nephew Caleb Nelson and her great nephew Brigg Gines.

The family requests that all flowers, notes or donations are sent to Holly's grandchildren. There will be a celebration of life for Holly that will be announced this summer.
