Woman arrested after alleged attack

A 36-year-old Green River woman is in the Sweetwater County Detention Center following an incident where she is alleged to have attacked her boyfriend and damaged his home and property.

Lynae Lee Hall was arrested Oct. 17 and charged with one felony charge and two misdemeanors. The felony aggravated assault and battery charge carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000, while the misdemeanor for domestic battery, second offense, carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine and the third charge of misdemeanor property destruction carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $750 fine.

According to court documents, a Green River Police Department officer was dispatched to 1180 Trona Drive in regards to a disturbance. The report stated a woman was outside the home beating on the windows of the house and yelling. When officers arrived, they spoke with Hall’s boyfriend, who said the couple had been dating for the past nine months and have been dating off and on for the past two years. Hall had spent the previous night at his home. Earlier that morning, Hall had knocked over an ashtray and refused to pick it up, which sparked an argument between the couple.

The boyfriend claimed Hall left the residence to go to the Exxon gas station on West Flaming Gorge Way and returned a short time later with a coffee-flavored energy drink and cigarettes. Upon returning, she began to accuse him of cheating on her and the two had an argument at the entryway of the home. During the argument Hall dumped some of the drink on his shirt and then allegedly grabbed him by the shirt and ripped it. She then allegedly scratched his face with her fingernails.

He went up the stairs to the hallway with Hall following, allegedly dumping the energy drink along the walls and upstairs doors. The argument continued in the living room, with Hall allegedly knocking over items and destroying them. She allegedly knocked two holes in the hallway closet door and said she would slash her boyfriend’s tires. He grabbed his keys and left the residence to keep her from slashing the tires.

After a few moments, the boyfriend returned to the home to see Hall allegedly pounding on a basement window with a wooden post. The glass window on the screen door was completely broken and the double-pane window on the left side of the front door was broken on one side.

He said Hall then followed him into the house and the two continued arguing. She allegedly stepped outside and threatened to slash his tires again and when he walked outside he noticed her holding a 6-inch long knife with a black handle. He told her not to slash the tires and he claimed she turned around and approached him with the knife. Hall allegedly pointed the knife at him and told him she would kill him. He than ran off the porch to get away from Hall, with the police arriving shortly later. The boyfriend said he never laid a hand on Hall, but said during the argument he kicked her rear in a playful manner.

The officer noticed the damage to the glass on the front storm door, which was completely broken, and the window on the left side of the front door having two glass panes broken out. The officer also observed the house’s interior with spilled energy drink and broken household items, which included a wooden coatrack and decorative wooden bears.

The boyfriend had multiple visible injuries, which included a small cut on his left cheek, some dried blood on his left ear and a small red mark at the base of his neck on the left side, which he claimed came from Hall when she scratched his face. The officer did not notice marks on his hands or other places on his body.

Hall had no visible injuries on her body. When asked if the officer could search Hall’s purse, she consented. The officer located a folding knife with a silver blade and a black handle. When the officer spoke with Hall, she claimed the two were dating until a week prior to the incident and she had slept at his home the prior night, then left to visit the Exxon gas station. When she returned, she claimed she started harassing him before he attacked her and made her spill her drink. Hall said he told her to clean up the spilled drink and when she went upstairs to get cleaning products he followed her up and continued kicking her and beating her.

She also claimed he tackled her in the living room, explaining that as the reason things were broken in the room. She said he kept throwing her around and she claimed she was struck on her head and her lip, but didn’t think there were marks from the alleged attack. She claimed she was sore after the altercation.

She told the officer the small amount of blood seen on her right hand was likely due to her breaking the glass windows at the residence. She also allegedly told officers she threatened to slash the boyfriend’s tires so he could not go to work if he did not let her gather her belongings. She said she had the knife to defend herself when she was standing next to the truck and the boyfriend was on the porch.

Due to the boyfriend’s injuries and the lack of injuries to Hall, as well as the physical evidence at the residence, Hall was arrested.

She is currently being held at the Sweetwater County Detention Center on a $30,000 cash or surety bond.
