Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 3

At 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling east on Riverview Drive and another vehicle was traveling west on Astle Avenue, both approaching the intersection. As the vehicle on Astle Avenue passed through the intersection, the vehicle from Riverview Drive initiated a left-hand turn and struck the driver’s side of the other vehicle. Officers issued a citation to the driver, Kayladean Cook, 26, of Green River, for alleged failure to yield right of way and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of attempted auto burglary on West Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that was believed to have been caused by an attempt to unlock the door. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 4

At 12:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported being involved in an altercation with another individual, who had left prior to officer arrival. Officers attempted to locate the individual and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious juvenile subject at the Loaf N Jug on Bridger Drive. Officers made contact with the individual, confirmed the individual was not a juvenile, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Smith’s. It was reported one vehicle was traveling through the parking area and initiated a right-hand turn into a parking spot next to another vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied, and the driver’s side of the first vehicle struck the rear passenger side of the parked vehicle. Officers issued a citation to the driver, Peggy Beckum, 75, of Green River, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 5

At 11:07 a.m, officers responded to a report of an agency assist with probation and parole agents. Officers and the P&P agents conducted a search and located suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. An arrest and hold order was issued on the individual and offices placed Jakob Taggart, 35, of Green River, under arrest for alleged unlawful possession - powder or crystalline less than 3 grams - first offense. Officers transported Taggart to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of a physical altercation. Officers met with an individual who reported they had been run over by a vehicle. EMS were called to the scene and the individual was transported. Officers completed a report of the incident. The suspect is unidentified at this time. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 6

At 11:42 a.m., officers, EMS, and the Sweetwater County Coroner responded to a report of an unattended death. The deceased individual was transported by the coroner and officers completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances are suspected, the case is still under investigation. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 11:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper use of high beams at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive. Officers met with the driver of the vehicle and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage either coming from the vehicle or the individual. Subsequently officers placed the driver, Maryann Wright, 20, of Green River, under arrest for an alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater. Wright was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 7

At 1:53 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding at the intersection of Barnhart Street and Monroe Avenue. Officers met with the driver and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the individual’s breath. Subsequently officers placed the driver. Dustin Smith, 50, of Green River, under arrest for alleged DWUI alcohol incapable of safely driving 2nd offense. Officers issued Smith Citations for speeding and DWUI and transported him to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported a vehicle was traveling south on West Teton Boulevard when the vehicle left the lane of travel and struck a trailer that was parked and unoccupied on the east side of the roadway. As the vehicle struck the trailer, it was then pushed into a second vehicle. Officers issued the driver, Belina Marton, 53, of Green River, citations for driving while cancelled, suspended or revoked; careless driving; and child safety restraint required violation. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on West Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an individual who requested a trespass warning be issued to an individual. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 8

At 12:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Logan Street. Officers met with the individuals causing the disturbance and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:23 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person laying in the street at the intersection of Uinta Drive and River View Drive. As officers arrived they were notified the subject had left the scene. Officers were able to locate the individual hiding by some vehicles. Officers met with the individual who had previous injuries and was uncooperative with officers. Officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the individual and subsequently placed Cory Rother, 22, of Wichita, Kansas, under arrest for alleged public intoxication and interference with a peace officer - resisting arrest.

At 5:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Mansface Street. It was reported the vehicle while driving through a work zone had struck a piece of metal rebar that had been sticking out of the ground. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 9

At 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at the Brewery on Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an individual who requested a trespass warning be issued to an individual. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Clark Street. It was reported one vehicle was backing out of a driveway, on the west side of the street when the rear passenger side of the vehicle struck the front driver’s side of another vehicle which was parked and unoccupied on the east side of the roadway. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 11:29 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Golden Hour Senior Center. It was reported one vehicle was driving through the parking lot and began to pass a vehicle that was stopped and parked in front of the building. The front passenger side of the first vehicle struck the front driver’s side of the second vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied. Report to follow.

At 4:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a dispute and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 7:01 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance on Spring View Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported civil issues and requested a trespass warning be issued to another individual. Officers were unable to locate the individual at this time and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 10

At 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual banging on a window on East Teton Boulevard. Officers met with the individual, the owner of the residence, and completed a report of the incident.
