Green River Police Department reports for June 16

At 9:11 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at 1000 W. Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual that advised a vehicle dolly had been moved to the northeast corner of the lot and observed the vehicle dolly had been damaged on both fenders as well as the driver’s side tire. Officers completed a report of the incident, no suspects have been identified at this time.

At 1:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a possible explosion. Officers met with an individual who reported hearing a loud sound from the Mormon Canyon area. Officers did not locate anyone suspicious or locate the origin of the explosion. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of possible financial exploitation of an elderly person on Monroe Avenue. Officers completed a report of the incident, the case is still under investigation.

At 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Greasewood Street. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported they received a check for more than the amount they were selling products for and was asked to send approximately $2,500 back to the person wanting to make the purchase. No monetary losses were reported and officers completed a report of the incident.

June 17

At 1:08 p.m., officers assisted Rock Springs Police Department officers in making contact with an individual concerning an incident that occurred in the RSPD’s jurisdiction. Officers made contact with said individual on South 5th East Street, took a statement and completed a report of the encounter.

At 5:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bomgaars, concerning a suspected shoplifting. Suspect has not been spoken to at this time. The suspect’s location is unknown and this case is currently active. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a lost license plate. Officers made contact with the reporting person and completed an informational report of the incident.

At 9:44 p.m., officers were dispatched to Ironwood Street in reference to a disturbance.  The reporting party advised that they heard arguing. Contact was made with parents and juveniles and a report was taken and forwarded to detectives.

June 18

At 1:16 a.m., officers were dispatched to East Teton Boulevard for a report of a possible larceny. Contact was made with the reporting party and an informational report was taken.

At 7:27 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Family Dollar. Officers were able to locate the individuals and issue a trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Alabama Drive. Officers met with the reporting party and observed the damage to the property. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 19

At 8:08 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection of River View Drive and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Gene Pierce, 54, of Green River, a citation for an alleged obedience to traffic-control device violation.

At 11:41 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was allegedly speeding near the intersection of River View Drive and Wilkes Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 1:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Park View Drive and Crossbow Court. The driver advised another vehicle had pulled out in front of them at a high rate of speed and they had to swerve to avoid a crash. The driver collided into a parked vehicle on the street. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Colorado Drive. Officers arrived in the area and met with the individual causing the disturbance, advised of the complaint and completed a report of the incident.

June 20

At 2:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Ponderosa Bar. Officers arrived in the area and met with both parties. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:32 p.m., officers while on another call were in contact with an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Jennifer Harmon, 33, of Green River, under arrest for the active warrant. Officers transported Harmon to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not disclose where this arrest took place.

At 8:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Family Dollar. Officers met with the individuals and issued a trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 21

At 9:43 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on Shoshone Avenue. Officers met with the reporting party and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with the parents of the juvenile and attempted to locate the juvenile, 16. Officers were later notified that the juvenile was located. Officers met with the juvenile and a parent and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not disclose the address officers responded to.

At 1:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Maverik. While a vehicle attempted to make a turn away from a gas pump, it struck the front end of a second vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time of collision. Officers met with both drivers and observed minor damage to the vehicles. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision on Uinta Drive. Officers met with the owner of the vehicle, observed minor damage to the vehicle and attempted to locate a possible suspect. Officers met with another individual who was in the area at the time of the accident and observed the vehicle that could have caused the damage. Officers did not locate any damage consistent with the accident. No citations were issued due to lack of evidence. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 22

At 12:12 a.m., officers observed vandalized property while on an unrelated call on East Railroad Avenue. Officers observed and documented the damage. Officers completed a report of the incident, the case is still under investigation.

At 9:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle near the intersection of Butte Street and Wind River Drive. Officers tagged the vehicle and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Dominos Pizza. Officers made contact with the individual and issued them a trespass warning. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 23

At 12:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual who had hit a deer near the intersection of Uinta Drive and Wind River Drive.

Officers met with the individual and completed a report of the incident.

At 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog on Virginia Street. Officers observed barking dogs in the area and attempted to make contact with an owner. Officers completed a report of the incident.
