County to sell property in GR

A vacant property owned by Sweetwater County will soon be sold following a meeting Wednesday afternoon. The county commissioners met to discuss both a property transaction and discuss the ongoing funding situation with county ambulance services. The property being sold is the community services building on Flaming Gorge Way.

According to Garry McLean, the county’s human resources director, the county is trying to downsize the number of buildings it owns.

As budget difficulties associated with ongoing downturns in the minerals industry impact local budgets, many governing bodies are looking at ways to trim their budgets.

The county commissioners originally accepted an offer on the building following a Jan. 15 executive session.
