The Wolves Wrestling team had a rough week, but still earned a win and had a few wrestlers win matches throughout the weekend.
Clayson Mele continues to be strong at 106, having an undefeated week of competition. Others joining him in that feat are Kade Flores at 120, Dominic Martinez at 113, Kade Flores at 120 and Justin Flores at 138. Kade Knezovich was undefeated at the conference duals in Rock Springs. Last week, the boys traveled to Evanston for a dual against the Red Devils. The Wolves would come up short in that dual, losing 42-34.
Dominic Martinez, Kade Flores, Jacob Schlappi, Justin Flores, Tanner Adam and Clayson Mele won their matches at the dual. The Wolves took the short trip top Rock Springs to compete against Natrona, Kelly Walsh and Laramie.
The Wolves would come up short against Natrona in a 44-33 effort, having limited successes on the mat. Mele, Martinez, K. Flores, Kade Knezovich, J. Flores and Jon Ty Leininger won their matches during the dual.
The Wolves would earn a third loss in the week against Kelly Walsh, losing that dual 42-33. Mele, Martinez, K. Flores, Knezovich, J. Flores and Thomas Harvey won their matches.
The tides changed for the Wolves when they faced the Laramie Plainsmen. The Wolves would defeat the Plainsmen 60-24. Sage Wilde, Mele, Martinez, K. Flores, Knezovich, Jacob Weipert, J. Flores, Tayler Jensen, Leininger and Harvey won
their matches during the dual.
The Wolves wrestling team will take on Rock Springs Thursday at home. The dual begins at 5 p.m. with the JV team, with the varsity wrestlers hitting the mat at 6 p.m.
