Boys swimmers take 5th at Gillette meet

In a highly competitive swim meet, the Wolves swimming and diving team came home with a fifth-place finish.

Nineteen teams from across the state were in Gillette this weekend trying to see where their team was in comparison to others. The Green River High School boys team kept themselves in the top five.

They showed they can be competitive against Kelly Walsh and Cheyenne Central, Lander and Thunder Basin.

This weekend the team will travel to Evanston for regionals.

The team is still trying to qualify as many swimmers and divers that it can for state. After regionals, the team will only have one more chance to qualify swimmers.

The last chance meet will take place Feb. 7, while state is scheduled to take place Feb. 14-15.
