A Halloween trick reported to GRPD

A few tricks were reported by county residents as costumed trick-or-treaters made their way throughout their neighborhoods Monday evening.

According to the Green River Police Department, officers responded to an undisclosed address in reference to a report of a larceny. The reporting party told officers they watched two juveniles steal their inflatable Mickey Mouse decoration. The person also reported several pumpkins that had been smashed on their property. A detailed vehicle description was given and officers gave the description to other local law enforcement agencies.

Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers later located the vehicle and stopped it. The troopers contacted the driver and three occupants, who admitted their involvement with the larceny and smashing the pumpkins in the area.

The troopers then escorted the juveniles to the GRPD where they were turned over to city officers. The officers contacted the juveniles’ parents and later released the juveniles to their parents.

Officers completed a report in reference to the incident which has been turned over to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.

In Rock Springs, the RSPD received a report of possible tampered candy.

Officers investigated the candy, but did not suspect the substance to be toxic.

The RSPD recommends parents look through their children’s Halloween candy and throw out any suspicious candies.
