Rosana Elisa Romero

Rosana Elisa Romero, 96, of Rock Springs passed away Nov. 13, 2015, at her home.   A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Rancho de Taos, N.M., Romero died suddenly.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1919, in Taos, N.M., the daughter of Teofilo Mondragon and Estefana Cordoba.

Romero attended schools in Taos, N.M.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Her interests included playing bingo and spending time with her entire family.  

She married Jose T. "Tim" Romero on Oct. 12, 1938 and he passed away in Rock Springs on August 13, 1994.

Survivors include one son Teofilo "Tuffy" Romero and wife Bernice of Rock Springs; six daughters Geneva L. Pinkston and husband Boyce of Las Vegas, N.M., Connie Ruiz and husband Filiberto of Rock Springs, Bertha Romero of Aurora, Colo., Julia Cisneros of Cheyenne, Cheryl McNeill and husband Mark and Debbie Landeroz, all of Rock Springs; one brother Teofilo Mondragon of Taos, N.M.; three sisters Carmen, Benina and Ida, all of New Mexico; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jose T. "Tim" Romero; two sons Phillip "Hob" Romero and Timothy Ernest Romero; one daughter Carmen Romero; three grandsons Timmy, Ross and Angelo.

A mass of Christian burial took place Nov. 18, 2015.
