New Frontier Imaging in Rock Springs is in the midst of introducing a new mammography technique that will improve cancer detection rates in breast cancer screenings.
Digital tomosynthesis, or 3D breast imaging, will be introduced to the county though NFI next week. Maria Stradley, NFI’s CEO, said the new technology was approved by the FDA in 2011 and took a year to plan for the equipment’s introduction at NFI.
“It’s pretty amazing, you won’t miss cancers,” Stradley said. “This is huge.”
