Round two: Green River battles Tigers

It was an epic battle whose ebbs and flows between both teams that led to a plethora of momentum changes that gave packed house plenty of chances to bite their nails.

Three weeks ago, the Wolves and Tiger basketball team engaged in a back-and-forth battle that came down to a tense fourth quarter.

In the Jan. 29 game in Green River, the Wolves took a lead midway in the fourth, before a late Rock Springs run sealed the 56-46 victory.

Shortly after the game, Green River senior forward Tanner Trumble said the team played well they just made to many mistakes, but the game gave them the confidence they could compete with most teams in the 4A West Conference.

Green River (0-17, 0-7 4A West) will enter the second matchup of the teams Thursday night in Rock Springs, coming off their best performance of the year last week at home against Evanston. The Wolves had a 10-point second half lead last Thursday against the Red Devils before Evanston took control midway in fourth on their way to a 51-44 victory. The game tomorrow will tip off at 7 p.m.
