Kids of all ages were enjoying the warm February day on Expedition Island this Saturday at the Crystal Classic Winter Festival.     Little hands made heart-shaped cookies, decorated with frosting the color of Valentines. In preparation for Valentine's Day, residents of the Villa, at Mission at Castle Rock visited kindergartners at Truman Elementary School Feb. 11.     Each Spring, the first flower to bloom is the daffodil. This is just one of the many reasons why the American Cancer Society has picked this particular flower as its symbol of hope.     The Community Fine Arts Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary this fall. To help out, the Sweetwater County Library Foundation and the CFAC Advisory Board are hosting a reception Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the CFAC to kick off the fundraising campaign.     The Christian Adventurers are scheduled to gather at 350 Stage Place, Green River, on Saturday. Following a potluck beginning at 5:30 p.m., the group will view artifacts from Swaziland and learn about life in that small African country.     Green River seniors were getting ready for the big game Friday. During the Golden Hour Senior Center's regular lunch, prizes were given out and seniors enjoyed a Super Bowl themed lunch. GHSC Activities Coordinator Megan Brown said throughout the entire NFL football season, the center hosts a pool.     Impressive and artistic sculptures, carved from solid blocks of ice, will await residents when they visit Expedition Island this weekend. The 2016 Crystal Classic Winter Festival takes place Friday and Saturday at the island.
