    Green River Animal Control has seen an influx of cats and kittens this year, and the cat room has been overflowing. Animal control would like to encourage everyone to be a responsible pet owner.     Halloween is just around the corner. It’s a day filled with lots of activities here in Green River, school costume parades, costume contests, and of course trick or treating. This year school kids have an early dismissal at 1 p.m. The Green River Police Department, along with many businesses along Flaming Gorge Way, will be participating in the fun.   • Changes happening at GRPD

    You may have noticed some changes at the Green River Police Department. Not only do we have some new faces, but we have a new look as well. In the last year we have had five officers retire. We appointed a new chief, Tom Jarvie. Two captains were promoted, Shaun Sturlaugson and Janet Kauchich. Promoted to sergeants were Brad Halter, Jesse Nielson, Joe Cronk, and Det. Rob Fischer.
