Letter to the Editor: A correspondence with Vice President Kamala Harris

Dear Editor,

Last November, I wrote and sent a letter to Vice President Kamala Harris. I recently received a reply. In her letter, among other things, she said: “Today, our Nation faces many challenges. Together, we are responding with what I call American Aspiration. American Aspiration is the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been. It is the determination to do, not only to dream. I see it in America’s innovators, educators, small business owners, and nurses. I see it in people like you. Although these are tough times, I have never been more hopeful about our Nation’s future. I look forward to working with you to shape that future for generations to come.”

I have written to the Vice President again to invite her to an upcoming Memorial Day ceremony. The following is my most recent letter:

To Kamala Harris, esteemed Harvard alumnus, profound and dignified, extraordinaire, and V.P. of the United States,

My dear Vice President,

With all due great purpose, respect, and dignity promised, “what we have here is a failure to (preciously) communicate.” Please reference the remarkable movie “In the Heat of the Night.” This is contemporarily and creatively as a matter of speaking, yet another friendly reminder for you folks really to respond now at once as well since my last respectful request. Similar in sensibilities and sensitivities, this time we are asking of you to attend our presentation on Monday, May the 27th, Memorial Day, here in Green River, Wyoming, the Equality State. We would think that it just might behoove you, et al., to attend in person Abraham Lincoln’s historic second inaugural address presentation. A majestic moment of solemn silence notwithstanding, as would be most revered even unprecedented, please pay very close to attention to Lincoln’s vast, relevant wisdom and true sense of benefit for all, as becomes deeply appropriate.

Yours very truly,

An utmost concerned citizen of the people

P.S. - Indeed we are all literally attempting to prevent a third world war with our iconic involvement as such. I appreciate your most recent, kind correspondence in your letter.
