Juvenile suspects behind shots fired reports

In the early morning hours of Monday, October 30, local law enforcement dealt with several incidents involving two juvenile suspects, including reports of shots fired.

Around 4:45 a.m. Monday morning, Green River Police Department officers were dispatched to two separate calls for shots fired in the areas of W 3 N Street and Chugwater Drive. Private property was damaged at both scenes, but there were no injuries to anyone involved, the GRPD reported.

On Tuesday, October 31, the Green River and Rock Springs Police Departments reported that two juvenile suspects were behind the shots fired reports and were involved in other incidents.

“In Rock Springs, the suspects reportedly stole a vehicle, broke into several other vehicles, and took a handgun from one of the vehicles,” the joint GRPD and RSPD press release explained. “The suspects then traveled to Green River, in the stolen vehicle, and committed several incidents of property damage, including a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of E Teton Ave. and Monroe Ave. damaging a stop sign, and two separate calls for shots fired in the areas of W 3 N St and Chugwater Dr.”

The press release said that the suspects traveled back to Rock Springs, “where they stole another vehicle and subsequently crashed it at the intersection of Dewar and College Drive, which resulted in a foot pursuit with officers.”

The suspects were apprehended and arrested and are facing multiple charges stemming from the incidents, according to the press release.
