Green River swims away with another win

The Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving team competed in the Rawlins Invite on Saturday. Green River won nine of the eleven events and left the rest of the competition behind them as they raced through the water.

Green River dominated the meet with 397.5 points. In second place was Rawlins with 201.5 points, followed by Evanston with 175.5, Lyman with 153, Kemmerer with 130, Sublette County with 113.5 and Rock Springs with 91.

First-place event winners were Brianna Uhrig, Tavia Arnell, Haley Clevenger, Tanith Smith, Alayna Kellhofer and the three "A" Relay teams.

Emotions are running high for the ladies, especially the senior swimmers that will be finishing their high school swimming career. The seniors swimmers are Brianna Uhrig, Courtney Clark, Ivory Neher, Madison Moffat, Emilee Barnes and Avah Kellhofer along with divers Natalie Walgren and Kaili Wadsworth. These ladies have shown leadership in helping the team this year and have brought an abundance of talent to the team.

Sophomore Tavia Arnell holds the first-place record times in 3A for Wyoming in all events except the 50 Yard Freestyle, where she is currently placed third. She is an exceptionally talented young lady that will more than likely be a State Champion again this year in more than one event.

The Lady Wolves have had an amazing season so far and are moving into the last weekend of meets before the 3A West Conference Championships that takes place in Green River on October 20 and 21.

Green River will be making the long trip to Gillette this weekend to compete in the Gillette Invite on Friday and Saturday.
