Dee Chester Wadsworth

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great and great-great-grandfather, Dee Chester Wadsworth, returned to our beloved heavenly father on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at home with his family and beautiful wife, Jeannie.

Dee was born in Shelley, Idaho to Chester Parley Wadsworth and Electa Maria Saunders on May 27, 1926. He was the first of six children.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.

Dee married his one and only true love, Uva Jeannie Taylor, on August 29, 1951. After whisking her away from Stevenson, Washington they made their life in Bingham County, Idaho. There they raised 6 boys on farms of dairy cows, sheep, fields of potatoes, and hay.

Dee's 25 years as a Boilermaker Welder eventually brought them to Green River in 1972. His passion and hobbies were being outdoors, fly-fishing, gardening, and woodwork which could be seen throughout his yard and home.

Dee had many jobs throughout his life. Among those were welding with his father and sons at Wadsworth Welding in Thomas, Idaho. American Potato where the men would sling 100# sacks of spuds overhead into the railcars. He was instrumental in building the power plant East of Rock Springs in the 70s. His final job was working 12 years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which he was a faithful member, sealed for time and all eternity to his wife and family on April 23, 1968.

Dee is survived by his wife Jeannie Wadsworth of Jamestown, Wyoming. His Six sons Doug Wadsworth wife Malinda of Green River, Wyoming; Daniel Wadsworth wife Anona of Rigby, Idaho; Tim Wadsworth wife Elaine of Green River, Wyoming; Lon Wadsworth wife Lavonne of Green River, Wyoming; Jaimy Wadsworth wife Kimberli of Jensen, Utah; Todd Wadsworth wife Crystal of Green River, Wyoming; one brother, Ray Wadsworth wife Sandra of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sisters, Jean Stucki of Brigham City, Utah; Nita Jones of Blackfoot, Idaho; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Saunders of Brigham City, Utah; 19 grandchildren, 55 great grand children, and 12 great-great grands; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Those loved ones that have passed before him include his parents, his daughter Coleena Dee Wadsworth, a brother Donald Saunders; two brothers-in-law, Lynn Hiatt and Doyle Stucki; two sisters, Beth Alexander and Husband Gene; Lorna Butikoffer and husband Alan; a few loved infant grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Sweetwater County for the respectful and gracious care they gave Dee and his family.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 West 4th North, Green River, Wyoming. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11 A.M. The Graveside Services and interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Green River, Wyoming.

Friends may call one hour prior to Services. The family respectfully requests any donation be made in Dee's memory to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 West 4th North, Green River, Wyoming 82935. Dee loved plants and flowers. If you are sending flowers, please send them in a pot with dirt so they may continue to grow.
