September is a month full of awareness for important causes, which the Green River City Council recognized with proclamations at Tuesday night's meeting. The council recognized Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 18-24), Hunger Action Month, POW-MIA Recognition Day (September 15) and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
