Green River Police Department reports for June 23

At 4:08 p.m., officers responded to a REDDI report. It was reported an individual was driving while intoxicated. Officers located a vehicle matching the description given and tried to make contact with the driver. The driver did not respond and appeared to be traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Officers followed the vehicle to a residence on E 4 S Street where the individual exited the vehicle and attempted to go inside the residence. Officers made contact with the individual and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Subsequently, officers placed Matthew Payne, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI - alcohol, incapable of safely driving; no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions; and interference with a peace officer - resisting arrest. Officers transported Payne to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:53 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver a warning for alleged speed.

At 6:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue for a vehicle that was speeding. Officers met with the driver and suspected the driver may be intoxicated. Subsequently, officers placed Jimmy Hamilton, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI - .08 or greater and open container. Officers transported Hamilton to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:57 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Upland Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

June 24

At 9:45 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mckinley Street and issued the driver a warning for alleged no trailer lights and a stop sign violation.

At 9:56 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Logan Street and issued the driver a warning for an alleged stop sign violation.

At 11:23 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Scotts Bottom Road and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 11:50 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Rhode Island Place and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 12:25 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 3 W Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged inattentive driving.

At 12:56 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:25 p.m., officers responded to Smiths located at 905 Bridger Drive for a report of a hit and run. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 3:35 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 4:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage after their vehicle had been parked overnight in the parking lot of the Red Feather. Officers later located the individual that had crashed into the vehicle parked at the Red Feather. Officers gathered information and issued the driver, Jerry Medina, of Green River, citations for alleged no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions and failure to report $1000+ property damage or injury. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers located the individual at the Embassy Tavern at 77 E Railroad Avenue. Officers confirmed the warrant and subsequently placed Ezra Price, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Price to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers gathered information, the parties were separated, and officers completed a report of the incident.

June 25

At 4:23 a.m., officers responded to The Buck’n Bar at 50 E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of individuals that were assaulted during a physical altercation. Officers met with several individuals involved in the altercation and gathered information. It was discovered an individual had been stabbed during the altercation. EMS was called and one individual was transported by ambulance. Officers attempted to locate the other subjects involved, who had left prior to the officer’s arrival. Officers completed an incident report, which is still under investigation.

At 2:05 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported several items missing. Officers gathered information and met with several other individuals. Several of the items were recovered and officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 3:43 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Bridger Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was backing out of their driveway and struck the second vehicle, which was pulling up to the curb. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 8:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals who were involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Astle Avenue and Logan Street for a report of a hit and run that occurred on Scotts Bottom Road. After observing the vehicle matching the description traveling north on Uinta Drive, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of East 4th South Street. Officers met with the occupants and gathered information. It was reported the drivers had switched places after the collision. The juveniles, age 15, of Green River, were issued citations for alleged no valid driver’s license, compulsory auto insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, and stop sign violation.

June 26

At 12:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals involved in a dispute. Officers gathered information, the parties separated, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:07 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Minnesota Court concerning a suspicious circumstance. Officers met with the residents who reported hearing “knocking” and other suspicious sounds at the back of the house. Officers conducted a perimeter search and an interior search of the residence and did not locate anyone in the area. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:32 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with an individual who reported the missing juvenile, age 17. Officers were notified the juvenile later returned home. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 6:48 a.m., officers responded to Smiths at 905 Bridger Drive for a report of theft. Officers observed two individuals matching the description given exiting the store and initiated contact. Officers advised of the complaint, met with store employees, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Upland Way and Uinta Drive with another vehicle approaching from behind. The second vehicle proceeded forward and then came to a stop again and struck the rear of the first vehicle. Officers met with both drivers, gathered information, issued the driver Ritchie Krmpotich, of Green River, a citation for alleged following too closely, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 12:10 p.m., officers while on another call for service observed an individual known to officers to have an active warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Joshua Anderson, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Anderson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:59 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged obedience to traffic-control device violation.

At 4:18 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Evans Drive for a report of an animal bite. It was reported a stray dog bit an individual. Officers met with the victim and then located and impounded the dog. Officers met with the owner and issued a citation to Samuel Smith, of Green River, for alleged vicious animal. Report to follow.

At 5:15 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Riverview Street and issued the driver, Cristy Gunduz, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/ improper registration.

At 9:23 p.m., officers responded to South Carolina Drive for a report of an assault. Officers met with staff who reported being attacked by a resident. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:33 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Citadel Street and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged lights violation.

At 10:41 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged lights violation.

At 11:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged failure to stop violation.

June 27

At 1:46 a.m., officers responded to Loaf and Jug at 515 East Flaming Gorge Way for a report of an intoxicated driver that had crashed into the front doors of the store. Officers met with the driver, requested EMS to respond, and gathered information. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and subsequently placed the driver, Michael Anson, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for allegedly DWUI of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Officers transported Anson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:02 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a dog at large. Officers met with the individuals in regards to the complaint and a verbal warning was issued to the dog’s owner. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:32 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Roosevelt Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 8:50 a.m., officers responded to the area of Telephone Canyon for a report of a four-wheeler that was stashed in some bushes. Officers observed the four-wheeler to be covered up with bushes and suspected it to be possibly stolen. Officers impounded the four-wheeler and booked it in for safekeeping. Officers were contacted by the owner who advised they had covered it due to being out of gas. Officers released the four-wheeler to the owner and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with a parent/guardian who reported that a juvenile, age 17, had left the home without permission and had not returned. The juvenile was located and returned home. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist. Officers met with an individual who reported concerns. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:43 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Virginia Drive for a report of subject removal. Officers met with an individual who reported a disturbance and requested the other individual be removed. Officers gathered information. Both parties agreed to remain in the residence with no further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.

June 28

At 12:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals that were involved in a dispute. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:43 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a dispute. Officers gathered information and conducted a civil standby. Officers gathered information and the parties separated with no further incident.

At 6:47 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 11:37 a.m., officers made contact with an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Trae Johnson, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Johnson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:34 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Log Cabin Lane for a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported missing medication. Officers met with a suspected individual, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:39 p.m., officers responded to Smiths at 905 Bridger Drive for a report of an assault. Officers met with an individual who reported being involved in a physical altercation with another individual while at work. Officers met with both involved parties and a store manager, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:53 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 11:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged when headlights are required violation.

At 11:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bridger Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged headlight violation.

June 29

At 12:29 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 2 S Street and issued the driver a verbal warning for an allege headlight violation.

At 3:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported the driver of the vehicle was traveling west on West 2nd South Street when they fell asleep and the vehicle drifted and crashed into the fence on the south side of the road. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
