Green River Police Department reports for April 18 - April 23

April 18

At 12:22 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Cumorah Way for a request for subject removal. The subject had already left the residence upon the officer’s arrival. Officers met with the reporting party who reported a dispute. Officers made contact with the subject, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a missing five-year-old juvenile. Officers were notified the juvenile was located and was ok. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:51 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and Clark Street for a registration violation. The driver was unable to provide the officer with a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, or valid registration. Officers gathered information and learned the driver had an ignition interlock requirement and that their license was suspended. Officers placed the driver Jerry Medina, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for allegedly driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked; improper registration; compulsory auto insurance; and driving without interlock device. Officers transported Medina to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to the GR Rec Center for a report of an individual who was having difficulty breathing. EMS arrived and the individual was transported to the hospital. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that an altercation had occurred between two individuals who then left in their vehicles. Subject-1 then followed subject-2 before leaving the area. When subject-2 returned to their residence, they found damage to their front door. Officers met with subject-2 and gathered information, while other officers were trying to locate subject-1. Officers were later notified that subject-1 was involved in a crash and was being transported to the hospital. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:16 p.m., officers responded to the area of  I-80 US 191 South for a report of an agency assist with WHP for a two-vehicle collision.

April 19

At 11:11 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and Bridger Drive and issued a written warning to the driver for alleged stop and turn signals required violations.

At 11:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Child Development Center located at 1715 Hitching Post Drive for a parking problem. It was reported a vehicle was parked in the handicap parking space. Upon officer arrival, the vehicle was already gone. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance property. Officers observed the property in violation of city ordinance and made contact at the residence. Officers gathered information, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:48 p.m., officers responded to Uinta Drive and E 2nd South Street for a report of a hit and run collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling northbound on Uinta Drive, both in the left west lane. As the vehicles approached the left turning lane, the second vehicle struck the passenger side of the first vehicle as they traveled around it into the turning lane. The driver of the second vehicle did not stop and continued driving. Officers located the second vehicle and met with the driver. Officers gathered information and issued citations to Marcella Knowles, of Green River, for alleged failure to maintain liability coverage, driving on roadway laned for traffic, and duty to stop violation. Officers then completed a report of the incident.

At 12:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole office located at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Nathaniel Stairs, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Stairs to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Alabama Drive for a report for a possible REDDI. It was reported there was a subject passed out in a vehicle that was parked on a curb. Upon officer arrival, officers observed the vehicle parked up on the curb, running, and a subject that appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat. Officers knocked on the window and awoke the subject. The subject’s driver’s license was checked for status and returned showing suspension out of Wyoming. The driver was also unable to provide proof of registration or insurance. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed the driver, Martin Adams, of Rock Springs, under arrest and issued citations for allegedly driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked - 2nd offense; vehicle registration violation; and failure to provide proof of liability coverage. Officers transported Adams to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and Completed a report of the incident. 

April 20

At 4:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to Evans Street for a report of a noise complaint. Officers made contact at the residence, advised of the complaint, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:31 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers met with the parties involved in the altercation. Both parties agreed to be civil and neither wished to pursue charges. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual receiving threatening phone calls. Officers met with the individual who reported they had received threatening phone calls from an unknown person. The reporting person advised they had since changed their phone number and had not received any more calls. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of two individuals with active warrants. Officers confirmed the warrants and placed Robert Shepard and Geneale Shepard, both of Green River, under arrest per the active warrants. Officers transported both individuals to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 9 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. The reporting party advised there had been a fight in the street and it had been broken up. Officers met with all individuals involved and gathered their statements. One of the possible suspects had left the area prior to officer arrival and had not been located at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

April 21

At 10:42 a.m., officers responded to a VIN inspection at the courthouse located at 80 W Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with the individual who requested the inspection and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed the driver, Jason Davis, of Rock Springs, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI of alcohol - .08 or greater and open container. Officers transported Davis to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:42 p.m., officers responded to the mile marker 85 eastbound on Interstate 80 in reference to an agency assist with Wyoming Highway Patrol. Officers responded as part of a SWAT activation for a barricaded subject. Officers were able to apprehend the subject without any further incident.

At 5:46 p.m., officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive for a report of found drugs. Officers met with an individual who found a suspicious bag of suspected drugs in a vehicle they had just purchased. Officers collected the bag of suspected drugs and tested the substance. The substance did not test presumptive positive for a controlled substance and was disposed of. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 22

At 8:28 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported a package missing. Officers gathered information and ascertained the package had been picked up by a neighbor for safekeeping. The package was returned and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:23 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Montana Way in reference to a report of a theft. The RP reported that a license plate registration sticker had been removed from their vehicle by an unknown person. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:56 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 11:33 a.m., officers responded to the Uinta Drive overpass in reference to a report of an individual who was seen writing or drawing on the metal panel of the overpass walkway. Officers made contact with an individual, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:57 a.m., officers while on patrol located a license plate on the roadway. Officers contacted the owner, who then reported that they had reported the license stolen in March. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:59 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver written warnings for alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required; and no valid driver’s license.

At 1:25 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Windriver Drive for a report of a larceny. It was reported a bicycle was reportedly taken from the residence and the bicycle was later recovered at a house down the street.

At 2:01 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint that occurred at the intersection of N 5th West Street and W 2nd North Street. Officers met with an individual who wanted to file a complaint against a driver who ran a stop sign. Officers were able to identify the driver and issued Michael Montoya, of Green River, a citation for an alleged stop sign violation. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:33 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 7:22 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E 2nd North Street for a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported their license plate off of their vehicle was missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

April 23

At 12:37 a.m., officers responded to North 3rd West Street in reference to a barking dog complaint. Officers contacted an owner who responded and put the dogs inside the residence. Officers advised of the complaint, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 1:58 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive at Keith Drive on a vehicle for displaying expired registration. The driver was later found to have a suspended driver’s license. The driver Brooke Richardson, of Green River, was cited for allegedly driving while under suspension, compulsory insurance - 2nd offense, and expired registration. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:01 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 4:16 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a written warning for alleged inattentive driving.

At 7:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic and met with the individuals involved. The individuals agreed to be civil. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
