Green River Police Department reports for March 19

At 2:04 p.m., officers responded to the E Flaming Gorge Way area for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling southeast on E Flaming Gorge Way. One vehicle slowed down and the other vehicle struck the rear of the first vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the second vehicle, Harvey Poling, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:23 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Kentucky Street for a report of a barking dog. Officers could hear a dog barking in the area, located the residence, and attempted to make contact. Officers posted a notice on the door, completed a report of the incident, and forwarded the information to Animal Control.

At 5:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:08 p.m., officers responded to the Shoshone Avenue area for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers gathered information and ascertained one of the individuals was in violation of a probation order. Officers placed Dustin Cleary, of Green River, under arrest for an active Arrest and Hold Order/PC Arrest for Probation/Parole Violation. Officers transported Cleary to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:16 p.m., officers responded to the Shoshone Avenue area for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported while officers were on the scene of a call, they observed an individual that was driving one vehicle back into another vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

March 20

At 2:54 a.m., officers responded to the N 2 E Street area for a report of an individual knocking on the door of a residence. Officers attempted to locate the individual and made contact at the residence. The individual requested the subject be issued a trespass warning for the property. Officers completed a report of the incident and will issue the trespass warning once the subject is located.

At 7:32 a.m., officers were dispatched to Monroe Avenue for a report of a hit and run that occurred on Upland Way. Officers met with the owner of one vehicle who reported they found a note on their vehicle that stated someone had hit their vehicle. Officers gathered information, attempted to contact the owner of the other vehicle, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:06 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an animal bite. Officers met with an individual who reported they tried to gather a stray cat and take it to the Animal Shelter when they were bitten by the cat. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The cat will be held at the shelter for a 10-day Rabies quarantine observation period.

At 2:07 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Chugwater Drive concerning an accidental discharge of a firearm. It was reported the individual was cleaning the firearm when it went off. No injuries were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:58 p.m., officers responded in reference to Municipal Court summons and for an individual with an active warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, placed Jackson Gladue, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant, and issued a citation for alleged interference with peace officer. Officers transported Gladue to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:17 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E 2 N Street in reference to trespassing and theft. Officers met with an individual who reported an item missing and requested a trespass order be issued to the subject suspected of taking the item. Officers gathered information, attempted to contact the subject, then completed a report of the incident.

At 8:43 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Colorado Drive in reference to a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:07 p.m., officers responded to the I-80 WB tunnel for a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle lost traction and struck the sides of the tunnel. Officers gathered information and issued the driver, Rosibel Nunez Cruz, of Utah, citations for alleged speed too fast for conditions, and no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions. Officers then completed a report of the incident.

At 11:27 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 4 W Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speeding.

March 21

At 12:58 a.m., officers responded to the Loaf N Jug at 515 E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of an incident involving an individual claiming to have lost their wallet in the store. The individual became upset then yelled at the staff when the wallet was not located. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. Neither the subject nor the wallet was located. 

At 5:56 a.m., officers responded to a residence on N 2ND E Street in reference to a burglary. Officers met with the homeowner who reported their residence had been broken into. They did not find anything missing but did find damage to their front window and two internal walls. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. There are no suspects at this time.

At 8:59 a.m., officers responded to the area of Crossbow Drive for a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who expressed concerns about an individual that was potentially scammed. Officers met with the individual and gathered information. It is unknown if there were monetary losses or if the incident was in fact a scam. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:59 a.m., officers responded to Smith’s at 905 Bridger Drive in reference to shoplifting. Officers met with the store manager who reported that an individual had taken an item from the store. The manager advised they have elected to allow the individual to pay for the item, but requested a trespass order be issued. Officers met with the individual and conducted a civil standby while the individual paid for the item. Officers then issued a trespass warning to the individual and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Stratton Myers Park for a report of an individual who was reportedly assaulted by an unknown male while walking in the area. While GRPD officers canvassed the area, RSPD officers and GRPD Detectives met with the victim at the hospital. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 9:44 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Connecticut Street concerning a burglary from a vehicle that had reportedly occurred while the vehicle was parked at the Hitching Post Bar and Grill at 580 E Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been gone through and items were missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:24 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Schultz Street for a report of larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported their mini-bike had been stolen from their driveway. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.
