Green River Police Department reports for Feb. 18 - 27

Feb. 18

At 9:52 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision in Smith’s parking lot at 905 Bridger Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported they had just parked their vehicle in a parking space facing northeast with another car parked directly in front of them. The driver reported as they were getting out of their car, the other vehicle began to reverse and struck the front of the first vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle reported they spoke to the driver of the second vehicle briefly then the driver left. Officers were able to contact the driver of the second vehicle, gathered information, issued the driver Brenda Deain, of Green River, citations for alleged hit and run and no valid driver’s license, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 7:55 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on Uinta Drive at the intersection of Powell Street. Officers met with the driver of the first vehicle, who reported they had lost control of their vehicle as they turned south onto Uinta Drive, crossed all lanes of traffic on Uinta, and then turned into oncoming (southbound) traffic and crashed into a second vehicle, which was traveling north on Uinta Drive. EMS responded and transports were made. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:07 p.m., officers responded to the area of FMC Park, Scotts Bottom Road for a report of a single-vehicle collision. Officers met with the driver of the vehicle who reported they had lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway and went off the roadway and struck a tree. Officers gathered information and subsequently issued the driver, Christian Swanson, of Green River, a citation for alleged careless driving.

At 10:22 p.m., officers responded to Schultz Street in reference to a report of possible burglary. Officers met with an individual who reported a suspicious incident where two individuals were possibly removing items from a residence. Officers searched the area but did not locate anyone in the area and could not determine if any property had been taken from the residence. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

Feb. 19

At 1:38 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and Upland Way on a vehicle for multiple traffic lane violations. Officers made contact with the driver and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed the driver, Kristi Terry, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged open container, inattentive driving, and DWUI of alcohol - incapable of safely driving. Officers transported Terry to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

Feb. 20 

At 1:58 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding and failing to maintain a lane of travel. Officers made contact with the driver and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed the driver, Ann Kennah, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI - alcohol .08 or greater and speeding. Officers transported Kennah to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

At 2:05 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Indian Hills Drive and Hopi Circle on a vehicle for speeding. Officers met with the driver and other occupants in the vehicle. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and placed the driver Julio Cesar Armenta Reyes, of Texas, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI- alcohol .08 or greater and speeding. Officers transported Armenta Reyes to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

At 9:27 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 4 W Street and W Railroad Avenue and issued the driver, Dillon Riddle, of Green River, citations for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration and failure to provide liability insurance.

At 2:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals that were involved in a verbal confrontation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:47 p.m., officers met with an individual who had an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Clayton Vaughn, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Vaughn to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

Feb. 21

At 1:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats via phone call. Officers spoke with the reporting party who stated they received a threatening phone call from a restricted number but they believed they knew who the caller was. Officers spoke with the other involved party who denied making the phone call, advised the reporting party of the process on obtaining a protection order, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny. Officers met with the reporting party who advised that while doing some construction work one of their tools had been stolen. Officers met with the reporting party and several witnesses but none witnessed any possible suspects. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.

At 8:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Town Bar & Grill. Officers met with the reporting party who advised there was an intoxicated male in the bar causing a disturbance that needed to leave the premises. Officers met with the individual who agreed to leave the bar for the evening. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 9:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of disturbing the peace. Officers spoke with the reporting party who advised there was an individual in the neighborhood playing loud music. Officers met with the individual who advised they would turn the music down. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 22

At 12:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals that were involved in a verbal argument, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. Officers met with both drivers who advised that while traveling through the intersection of E Teton Boulevard and Bridger Drive another vehicle had failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection from the east. Both vehicles swerved to avoid a T-bone collision and ended up colliding with each other. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle that had run the stop sign but were unsuccessful. Officers completed a report of the incident. 

At 12:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of an accident. Officers met with the reporting party who advised while backing out of their driveway they collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Officers observed minor damage to the vehicle and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash. Officers met with the driver who advised while traveling down the road their vehicle hit a patch of snow and they lost control of the vehicle and collided with a light pole. Officers issued the driver, a juvenile, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with crash and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash. Officers met with the driver who advised as they were traveling down the road their vehicle hit a patch of ice and began to turn and slide. The vehicle slid off the roadway and collided with an electrical box. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 23

At 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the individuals that were involved in a verbal argument and gathered information. The reporting party requested the other party be trespassed from their place of work. Officers issued the trespass notice and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. Officers met with both drivers who stated that while the first vehicle was stopped waiting to turn left at the light at the intersection of Uinta Drive and E Flaming Gorge Way, the second vehicle rear-ended the first vehicle after sliding on the ice. Officers observed minor damage to both vehicles and issued the driver of the second vehicle, Sherry Washington, of Green River, citations for alleged speed too fast for conditions and no valid driver’s license. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of harassment. Officers met with the reporting party who advised an individual had been sending harassing emails to a place of business. Officers spoke with the individual and issued them a trespass warning for the business at the request of the reporting party. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog. Officers located the barking dog and later spoke with the owner about the barking. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 24

At 11:16 a.m., officers responded to the area of Colorado Street for a report of a barking dog complaint. Officers met with the owner, advised of the complaint, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of two students in possession of a tobacco product. Officers met with the school admin, the students and their parents/guardians, then issued the juveniles, ages 13 and 14, of Green River, citations for alleged use or possession of tobacco by minor. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:33 p.m., officers were notified two students had left the school without permission. Officers met with school admin, their parents/guardians, gathered information, and attempted to locate the individuals. Officers were later notified the students had been located. Officers responded and transported the students back to the school. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:39 p.m., officers responded to Bomgaars, located at 1105 Bridger Drive, for a report of a theft that occurred on Feb. 21. Officers met with the assistant manager and gathered information. It was reported two individuals stole multiple items from the store. Officers identified the individuals and made contact with them at their residence. Officers recovered some of the missing items, gathered information, and issued trespass warnings to both individuals for Bomgaars. Officers issued citations to Steven Scates and Trista Vaughn, both of Green River, for alleged shoplifting, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:58 p.m., officers responded to the Maverick located at 59 Uinta Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was trying to drive through the fuel islands between pumps 6 and 7 and struck a second vehicle as it was parked and unoccupied at pump 6. Officers gathered information and issued the driver of the first vehicle, Hilarie Bramwell, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash.

At 5:04 p.m., officers responded to Mi Casita at 36 E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of an individual calling the restaurant and being rude and disrespectful towards the staff. Officers met with staff members who requested to have the individual issued a trespass warning. Officers made contact with the individual, gathered information, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 25

At 7:56 a.m., officers responded with EMS to a report of an individual who was having difficulty breathing. Upon arrival at the residence, officers found the individual to be unresponsive. Life saving measures were initiated but were not successful. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the individual.

At 10:53 a.m., officers responded to N 3 E Street for a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who reported being blackmailed by another individual on Snapchat. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:13 p.m., officers responded to E Flaming Gorge Way and N 2 E Street for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling east on E Flaming Gorge Way when one vehicle stopped to let a pedestrian cross the street, then the other vehicle struck the rear of the first. Officers met with the drivers, gathered information, issued a citation to the driver of the second vehicle, a juvenile, age 17, of Green River, for alleged following too close, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of Crossbow Drive for a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported a missing package that had been taken from their porch. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals that were involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 26

At 6:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault. Officers met with the individuals involved in a prior altercation, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

Feb. 27

At 3:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of stalking. Officers met with an individual who reported being stalked by an individual. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:57 p.m., officers responded to Driftwood Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal altercation. The parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:56 p.m., officers responded to Wilkes Drive for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, issued a trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.
