Boys make goals for tournament

This past weekend, the Wolves Boys Basketball team took on Pinedale, Bear Lake, and Rawlins in the Flaming Gorge Classic Tournament. Green River won the game against Pinedale with a final score of 68-50. They lost against Bear Lake with a final score of 56-44 and took another win against Rawlins with a final score of 63-43.

The overall top scorer of this tournament was Theran Archibald with 32 points against Rawlins, 18 points against Pinedale and 16 points against Bear Lake. The top rebounder in the tournament was Chris Wilson with one rebound against Rawlins, three rebounds against Pinedale and one rebound against Bear Lake.

Going into this tournament, the boys had two goals in mind. The first one was to be the hardest working team on the floor, and the second one was to continue to get better every time they stepped out on the court. The boys are such a hard working group that their actions on the court from this weekend definitely showed them sticking to those two goals. The team came up with these goals to help them throughout the whole season.

This annual tournament was one of the best things for the team to help them grow and achieve their goals. It gave them the opportunity to play six great basketball teams that play very different styles of basketball. Learning how to face these teams in the preseason tournaments helps the boys be more prepared for the season games coming up. These preseason tournaments also give them a chance to put different combinations of boys on the court.

"We've learned a lot about who we are in the first two weeks of tournaments," explained Head Coach Ivey.
