Green River Police Department reports for Dec. 4

At 2:44 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual on Monroe Avenue wearing what they thought was a bulletproof vest. Officers canvassed the area and observed an individual matching the description. Officers made contact with the individual, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with an individual who reported a juvenile as missing. Officers gathered information and attempted to locate the juvenile. Later officers were notified the juvenile had returned home. Officers met with all involved individuals and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:42 a.m., officers responded to Montana Way and East Teton Boulevard and issued Jarrit Hood, of Lyman, a citation for alleged animal at large.

At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive. It was reported the vehicle was traveling southwest approaching the intersection. When the vehicle began to negotiate the left-hand turn, the vehicle began to slide. The driver over-corrected and the vehicle left the south side of the roadway, traveled up over the curb and struck a road sign. Officers gathered information, issued the driver Austin Court, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged speed too fast for conditions, and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:25 p.m., officers responded with GRFD firefighters to a report of a fire inside of an apartment on Bridger Drive. It was reported the power had gone out and as the tenant was resetting the breaker a fire started in the breaker box. The individual used a fire extinguisher to put the flames out and the fire department made sure the fire had been completely extinguished. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Bridger Drive. Officers met with individuals that were involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 5

At 8:26 a.m., officers responded to S Wagonwheel Drive for a report of civil issues. Officers met with an individual who reported items missing after an ex moved out of the residence. Officers contacted the other party, gathered information, conducted a civil standby, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:28 p.m., officers responded to Smith’s for a report of a larceny. Officers met with the store manager who reported an individual for shoplifting. The individual was identified and officers attempted to make contact. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal altercation. The parties were separated. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:49 p.m., officers initiated a field contact in the Green River Police Department parking lot with an individual who requested assistance. Officers gathered information regarding a previous verbal domestic and concerns over child custody matters, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:05 p.m., officers made contact with an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Matthew Yoak, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant for a probation violation.

Dec. 6

At 12:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver, Ashley Ray, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 4:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported being harassed by an individual. Officers contacted the other party, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:16 a.m., officers, while at the GRHS, were advised of a positive alert from the vape detection system. Officers met with staff and several students, gathered information, and subsequently issued a citation for alleged use/possession of a tobacco by a minor to a juvenile, age 14, of Green River. Officers notified a parent/guardian and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver, Ivan Garza, 18, of Green River, a citation for alleged no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions.

Dec. 7

At 12:22 a.m., officers responded to the Hampton Inn for a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who reported an unknown caller contacted them and requested money be sent to them, as they were the owner of the establishment. The staff member advised no money could be sent and the caller requested personal funds be sent. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. There was no financial loss to the victim.

At 8:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving harassing emails. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual shooting a deer with an airsoft gun. Officers met with an individual who stated they had been shooting an airsoft gun into the air to scare off a deer that was on their property, eating their vegetation. Officers advised the individual that it was against Green River City Ordinance to fire an airsoft gun in city limits and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:27 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Uinta Drive for a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported jewelry missing from their residence. Offices gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:49 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Madison Avenue for a report of vandalism. Officers met with an individual who reported that the driver side window had been broken out of their vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:55 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Wilderness Trail in reference to a noise complaint. Officers met with the owner of a moving truck that was parked with the engine running and advised about the noise complaint. Officers issued a verbal warning and completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 8

At 7:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported being harassed by an ex and requested a trespass order be issued for their property. Officers met with the individual, gathered information, issued  trespass warnings, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:48 p.m., officers responded in reference to a domestic disturbance that had previously occurred. The parties were already separated. Officers met with an individual involved in an altercation, gathered information, attempted to locate the other involved individual and completed a report of the incident.

Dec. 9

At 10:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual possibly being drugged. Officers met with an individual who reported they thought someone had drugged their drink. Officers gathered information, collected the contents of the drink, and completed a report of the incident.
