Green River Police Department reports for Oct. 30

At 4:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on West Teton Boulevard. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal altercation with another individual that had already left. Officers gathered information, attempted to make contact with the other individual, and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of an ambulance assist on Bridger Drive and while on scene learned of a prior altercation. It was reported the individual was assaulted by an unknown individual. The individual was evaluated by EMS and transported to the hospital. Officers made contact with the suspected individual, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Cumorah Way. Officers met with an individual who reported two bikes missing. Officers later located the bikes and returned them to the owner. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:39 p.m., officers responded to an agency assist with EMS on Flaming Gorge Way. Drug paraphernalia was located and seized by officers. The individual was transported and officers completed a report of the incident. 

Oct. 31

At 10:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Uinta Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been keyed. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual on East Railroad Avenue. Officers met with an employee who reported an individual acting strange. Officers met with the individual, detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and issued a trespass warning at the request of the owner. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Wilson Street. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal dispute about missing items, and requested trespass warnings be issued to two individuals. Officers met with the individuals, gathered information, issued the trespass warnings and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest and hold order on Commerce Drive. Officers met with agents and the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Deleani Kunz, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active arrest order. Officers transported Kunz to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of violation of a court order on N 1st E Street. Officers met with the individual in violation of an active court order and placed Thomas Potton, of Green River, under arrest. Potton was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers made contact with an individual who reported being harassed by an ex. Officers gathered information.

At 10:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on West Teton Boulevard. Officers obtained statements, conducted a civil standby and completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 1

At 9:52 a.m., officers responded to a positive vapor alert from one of the automatic vaping detecting alarms at Green River High School. Officers gathered information and subsequently issued a citation to a juvenile, age 15, of Green River, for alleged use of a controlled substance. Officers met with a parent/guardian and completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 2

At 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling eastbound on the I-80 on ramp when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole and a fence. EMS responded but no transports were made. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway at Washington Elementary School. Officers were later notified the juvenile had been returned to the school. Officers met with the juvenile, notified a parent/guardian, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:32 a.m., officers emptied the prescription drug box in the GRPD lobby and turned over collected medications to the DEA for disposal.

At 9:48 a.m., officers responded with EMS for an unconscious individual who had fallen on Windriver Drive. Life saving measures were attempted but the individual was pronounced deceased. Officers contacted the Coroner, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a prior disturbance and that the parties involved were already separated. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Nov. 3

At 9:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Hutton Street. Officers met with an individual who reported paying an individual to perform yard work that was never completed. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Hoover Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their Facebook account had been hacked and they were in contact with a fraudulent customer support agent. The individual reported a fraudulent financial charge and monetary losses. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of animal cruelty on N 1st W Street. It was reported an individual was physically abusing their dog. Officers met with the subject and observed the dog. Officers took the dog into protective custody and issued the owner, Michael Lane, of Green River, a citation for alleged animal cruelty. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a missing wallet at Wilderness Court. Officers met with an individual who reported their wallet missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual who attacked an employee and broke several windows at New Beginnings on Colorado Drive. Officers gathered information, placed James Cozad, of Green River, under arrest, transported Cozad to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

Nov. 4

At 1:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog on Sundance Drive. Officers located the residence and attempted to make contact. Officers gathered information, completed a report of the incident, and forwarded it to Animal Control.

At 8:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of a scam on Arizona Street. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving a possibly fraudulent message through Facebook Community Standard and Pages Protection, stating there was an issue, asking for personal information to be verified. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
