Lady Wolves Volleyball team comes out fighting

The Green River High School volleyball team started their season at the Cokeville Invitational last Friday and Saturday, facing four different teams in five matches. The Lady Wolves won one of their matches on Saturday, and even though they lost the others, the score stayed close through most of their sets.

The first opponent the Lady Wolves faced was the home team. Cokeville beat Green River in all three sets, but the Lady Wolves kept the score to within three points in the final set. Green River fought back against Bear Lake, their second opponent, winning two sets and losing three, but keeping the score close in most sets. Mountain View was the last opponent the Lady Wolves faced Friday, when Green River won one set and lost three.

Saturday the Lady Wolves competed in the Silver Bracket, facing Riverside and Bear Lake. Green River came away from the first match victorious, beating Riverside 3-2. While they weren't able to secure a victory against Bear Lake, the Lady Wolves won one set and kept the score difference under five points in each set.

This week the Lady Wolves will head to the Evanston Border Wars Tournament and face opponents from Utah and Idaho.
