Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 19

At 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at the Green River Horse Palace. Officers met with an individual who reported money and a bag was stolen from their vehicle. Officers met with several individuals, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 20

At 5:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on Indian Hills Drive. Officers met with an individual who requested to have an individual issued a trespass warning for their property. Officers made contact with the individual, issued a trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

Aug. 21

At 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on East Teton Boulevard. It was reported a vehicle was backing into a driveway when a vehicle traveling southbound was approaching. The driver of the first vehicle accelerated to get out of the roadway and the rear driver’s side of the vehicle struck a utility pole located in front of the residence. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a found child. Officers were able to locate the child’s residence and make contact with a parent or guardian. Officers gathered information, turned the child over to a parent or guardian, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 22

At 9:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Windriver Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported fraudulent charges on their financial account. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a REDDI (report every drunk driver immediately) on Uinta Drive. Officers located a vehicle matching the description and met with the driver. The driver, Jason Walther, of Green River, was found to have been driving while intoxicated and placed under arrest for alleged DWUI and was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Bramwell Street and Logan Street. It was reported an ATV was traveling down the alleyway and struck a vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the ATV, a juvenile, age 14, of Green River, citations for alleged stop before emerging from alley violation and compulsory auto insurance violation - 1st offense. At 6:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal altercation and previous threats. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 23

At 9:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs attacking an individual and being aggressive on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with the owner and issued citations for alleged animal at large and vicious animal, to Shiann Meyers, of Green River. Report to follow.

At 1:37 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an animal problem on Wilkes Drive. Officers subsequently issued the owner of the dogs, Ginny Slaugh, of Green River, citations for alleged animal at large and vicious animal. Report to follow.

At 2:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence and were advised one of the parties had left in a vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers met with the individuals who reported a verbal dispute, gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 9:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal dispute with an individual who previously left. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with a caregiver who reported that an individual was causing a disturbance and acting violently. EMS was requested to transport the individual. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

Aug. 24

At 8:23 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Uinta Drive and ascertained the driver had an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Jonathan Hughes, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Hughes to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

At 9:32 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Rebecca Johnson, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Johnson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 10:49 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual who had found a baggie on the ground on Uinta Drive that contained suspected drugs. Officers collected and field tested the suspected drugs, which tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Green River High School. It was reported one vehicle was traveling behind a second vehicle. When the second vehicle stopped, the first vehicle struck the rear of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information.

Aug. 25

At 9:07 a.m., officers responded to a report of a parking problem on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers observed a note on the vehicle with owner contact info. Officers attempted to contact the owner, placed a notice of intent to impound the vehicle, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of a parking problem on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers attempted to contact an owner, placed a notice of intent to impound the vehicle, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Smith’s. Officers collected the items, returned all but a cell phone, attempted to locate an owner, booked in the phone for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:35 p.m., officers responded to a passing school bus violation at Hitching Post Drive and West Virginia Place. Officers met with the safety coordinator for the transportation department who advised of the violation and provided information. Officers attempted to make contact with the driver of the vehicle, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:36 p.m., officers responded to the BMX track at Stratton Myers Park for a report of trespassing and property damage. Officers located and made contact with an individual and gathered information. The manager for the track reported damage to the fence and a camera. Reparations were agreed upon and officers completed a report of the incident.
